A Fyrinnae A Day: 1952 Lip Lustre Swatches & Review

Hey lovelies,

Another gorgeous Fyrinnae Lip Lustre today. This is 1952, a retro orange-red befitting its name.

All of the Lip Lustres I bought are in the trial size, which is 1.5g and contains enough for a few applications. This is a great way to try a colour before committing to a full size tube, especially since you can't see this product in a store before purchasing (Fyrinnae is only sold through their website). I love that the applicator is still a regular sized doefoot one, so it's very easy to apply.

Fyrinnae's description:

Very bright warm red. It may appear almost orange on some skintones, while leaning cool on others. Matte finish (no shimmer but applies with a slight glossiness), and is likely to stain.

L-R: 1952, Visual Kei, Ocelot, Queer Theory, Dragon's Blood, Winter Romance swatched on bare skin

1952 is a bold orange leaning red satin lippy. It's definitely more strongly orange than red on me. The opacity is great and it was very easy to apply. Lip liner is a must for 1952 on me, I found it began feathering and migrating after an hour when I skipped it for a wear test. After four hours the colour was mostly intact, but noticeably faded in intensity and had become quite matte. As Fyrinnae mentions, there is some mild staining.

What I liked:
  • Fantastic colour pay off, great lasting power
  • Great price - 1.5ml trial size (shown here) is $2.00USD, full size tube is $7.00USD.
What I didn't like:
  • Mildly drying after four hours.
  • A little too much slip - feathering and migration around the lip line after an hour
Where to buy:
