Hey lovelies,
I love a good coral lippy, don't you? I can't stop adding them to my collection and Make A Wish by Australis is a stunner. Prior to picking this lipstick up last year, I hadn't bought an Australis lipstick since a pinky nude one I bought for my 6th form ball back in the day - I believe that was the only lipstick I've ever finished, actually! I really should remedy this and pick up some more though, because this lipstick has really impressed me.
Australis lippies are looking rather swanky these days! The packaging is sturdy glossy black plastic with a band of hot pink. The cap closes very securely so there's no risk of it popping off and wreaking havoc in your handbag!
Make A Wish was originally a limited edition shade but appears to be permanent now, going by the Australis site. It's part of the Color Inject line; here's what Australis has to say about the formula:
What is it?
A Long lasting, moisturising and nourishing lip colour with an injection of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants
Why we it
It contains Kakadu plum which is the world's highest known source of Vitamin C. Kakadu Plum is not only soothing, but also naturally stimulates collagen formation. Additionally it contains these ingredients that are super beneficial for you: Vitamin E which is a powerful antioxidant that moisturises and enhances skin smoothness. Peptides which stimulate cells to produce collagen and also have smoothing, defining and moisturising qualities. Jojoba oil which is moisturising and skin protecting. Evening primrose oil which is rich in Omega 6, smoothing and moisturising. Avocado oil which acts as an emollient and allows for a smooth application Mica which provides a natural luminosity and a soft silky feel and Titanium dioxide which acts as a UV filter and absorbs, reflects, scatters and blocks ultraviolet radiation.
Pretty hefty claims! I do have to agree though, this lipstick does feel lightly hydrating. It doesn't replace a lip balm, but it certainly is comfortable to wear. It applies smoothly and evenly and lasts four + hours before wearing away evenly.
Onto the swatches!
Make A Wish is an orange leaning coral creme with a slightly glossy finish. It has mostly opaque colour coverage with a hint of translucency and lovely, even colour pay off. As I mentioned, it has a great formula. One thing to note is that it has a traditional lipstick scent. I personally love that, it's a very nostalgic scent for me - memories of lipstick kisses from my Mum - but I know it's not everyone's bag.
What I liked:
- Lovely colour pay off
- Lasts well through drinking and snacking - 4+ hours
- Feels lightly hydrating
What I didn't like:
- No complaints from me! Some may not enjoy the traditional lipstick scent though.
Where to buy:
- Available from Farmers and selected pharmacies in New Zealand - I believe I paid around $16NZD, but there are often great deals with freebies or discounts on Australis here.
- Australian readers can buy from the Australis website for $12.95AUD.
Thanks for stopping by!
