MAC MONDAY | Glitter & Ice - Snowglobe Beauty Powder Swatches & Review

Yeeesh, what a day! If you're in New Zealand like me, I hope you haven't been too distressed by the earthquakes rocking our country at the moment and that you're safe and whole with undamaged property! We've not been hurt or had anything damaged or broken, but the constant rocking has been unsettling, to say the least.
On a more cheerful note, I have a Beauty Powder from the MAC 2011 Glitter & Ice collection to show you today. It was that year's holiday collection and all of the packaging was glossy and white - some of the eyeshadow palettes even had little glittery snow globes in the lids! I have some of the lipsticks from the collection coming up in a future MAC Monday post, too, so keep an eye out.

MAC's Beauty Powders are touted as multi-use and what you use each shade for will depend on both your skin tone and the colour itself. Being both pale and a shimmery shade, Snowglobe is best suited as a highlighter on light-medium skin tones.

Snowglobe is described as a 'frosty pink beige'. It's very, very pale and sheer and matches my skin tone well, as you can see! Despite this, it can be built up to a nice level of glow on the cheeks or worn in a more subtle fashion, depending on your preference. The texture feels dry and quite firmly packed in the pan as I had trouble swatching it with my fingers but it responds much better to brushes, which is of course how I apply it in practice anyway! Snowglobe wears for eight hours on me before beginning to fade.

I'm wearing Snowglobe Beauty Powder topped with Darling Girl Liquid Stardust in Thin White Duke (a very fine glitter). The blush and contour shades are all from the Essence Shape Your Face Contouring Palette in Ready, Set, Peach!

What I liked:
  • Buildable, even colour payoff
  • Lasts for eight hours on me
  • Easy to blend out and build up as desired
What I didn't like:
  • Feels a bit dry and tightly packed in the pan
Start your hunt here:
What do you think of this Beauty Powder? Is it the highlight you've always dreamt of?
