MAC Blue Nectar - Courting Seduction Lipstick and In Abundance Plushglass Swatches & Review

I am horrendously late posting the MAC Blue Nectar collection, which launched in New Zealand in August, and I'm not sure whether it can still be found in New Zealand stores, but in happy news, these colours are both still available online. Blue Nectar is a limited edition collection filled with vividly coloured lipsticks in twelve shades, four of which are repromotes and can be found at the end of the post) and six Plushglasses for complimentary washes of colour.

The Plushglass packaging is almost identical to Lipglass packaging, with the exception of the cap, which is rubberized instead of glossy. I've actually never tried this formula before, I've no idea why, but it's supposed to be 'high shine, plumping and conditioning', all of which In Abundance met.

In Abundance (RRP $48NZD) is described as a 'bright coral pink'. It delivers a sheer wash of colour and plenty of shine, with a slight plumping effect. I didn't notice any stinging or other adverse reaction (which is sometimes the case with plumping glosses!) and liked how even and glossy the colour appeared. In Abundance lasted for three and half hours on me and was hydrating. All in all, I'd say my first Plushglass experience was a success!

Courting Seduction (RRP $40NZD) is described as a 'creamy pastel lavender' in an Amplified finish. It's virtually a dead-on dupe for Viva Glam Nicki 2, so if you regret missing that one a few years back you'll definitely want to snap Courting Seduction up! If I had to spot a difference, I would say Nicki 2 is perhaps a hair pinker, maybe, but honestly, only the most pedantic lipstick obsessive is going to be fussing about that. They apply the same - mostly opaque with a tendency to form lines when your lips are pressed together and settling into deep lip creases and wear the same, lasting around four hours without being drying. It's not the colour for me, but hey, I appreciate that MAC regularly do put out these kinds of colours for those who love 'em!

MAC Blue Nectar - Heroine, Ablaze, Riot House, Barbecue lipstick swatches

The shades Heroine (permanent), Ablaze (Fashion Sets 2013), Riot House (MAC X Kelly Osborne) and Barbecue (Isabel & Ruben Toledo) were repromoted in this collection as well, so here are quick and dirty swatches (Heroine and Ablaze, need redoing, ugh!). All of these have a Matte finish and you can find my review of Heroine here.
