Eeeeep, another ColourPop Lippie Stix set I never got around to reviewing while it was available - I promise I'll do better with the current sets! The Sundays in Silverlake collection was released in June 2015 as part of ColourPop's summer collection and contained six limited edition Lippie Stix in varying finishes. One of the shades, Parker, has been repromoted in the current Holiday '16 Lippie Stix set 'To and From' which I've ordered, so I'll be interested to see if there's any colour variation between the two!
The Lippie Stix formula seems to be divisive among makeup lovers but personally, on the whole, I really enjoy it. I have a mixture of Mattes, Satin, Cream and Hyper Glossy finishes in this selection and I've found the texture, pigmentation and application to be great across all formulas. The mattes have a very subtle tackiness and a smooth, slightly creamy texture. They can be a little firmer on the lips than some of ColourPop's other Lippie Stix finishes, but they don't drag or tug in any way. The Creams are glossier and have more slip, though they're not as glossy as the Hyper Glossy or Glossy formulas. The Satins fall in between the Creams and Mattes both in texture and level of gloss. The Hyper Glossy finish is one I tend to struggle with, and I assume I wasn't the only one as it's been discontinued altogether - most of the colours I have tried feathered terribly within half an hour of application. To date, the only Hyper Glossy that hasn't turned into a feathery mess on me is Go Fish (reviewed here).
They are all pretty forgiving of flaws, good news for those who struggle to keep pesky lip flakes away! Some shades can be drying but I don't find it a drying formula overall.
The Lippie Stix have a gorgeous chocolate chip cookie scent - it smells just like the Rainbowlicious Chocolate Chip scrub to my nose, which means I'm basically in heaven every time I pop the cap off one of these. SO good.

Ace
Ace is described as a 'light warm pink' and has a Cream finish. This is one I didn't expect to like as much as I do because I'm still getting comfortable with lighter nudes but Ace wound up being one of my favourites from the set! It applies smoothly but due to the emollience of the formula I did find it prone to forming lines where my lips pressed together. It wore for four hours on me and wasn't drying.
Parker
Parker is described as a 'mid-tone warm nude' with a Matte finish. Parker is such a gorgeous nude shade for those of you with warm skin tones, I've found myself reaching for it several times and I'm so glad it's been repromoted in the To and From set so that I'll have a backup. Parker wore for four and a half hours on me and while it didn't feel drying during the wear itself, my lips were a little flaky afterwards.
Chella
Chella is described as a 'mid-tone bright peachy coral' and has a Cream finish. It applied beautifully and had none of the demarcation issues that Ace had, lasting for four hours on me without drying out my lips.
Thirsty
Thirsty is described as a 'cool-toned berry pink' with a Satin finish. The shot of berry in this makes it quite pretty and unique and among my pink lipsticks, I hope ColourPop bring it back someday. Thirsty applies nicely and wears for a little over five hours with some light staining after the colour has worn away. It was really comfortable to wear and didn't dry out my lips or migrate anywhere.
Pasties
Pasties is described as a 'bright cool-toned magenta' with a Hyper Glossy finish. It's a beautiful colour but like I mentioned earlier, the Hyper Glossy formula rarely works for me and Pasties was a feathery mess shortly after applying it. It did last for a solid six hours, though.
Cougar
Cougar is described as a 'bright pinky-red' and has a Matte finish. I absolutely adore this colour, which simultaneously balances heart-stopping brightness with a lot of depth and is matched by a stellar formula. Very opaque, easy to apply and non-drying with a six-hour wear time. Cougar is really, really close to YSL Rouge Pur Couture Le Mats 208 Fuchsia Fetiche (try saying that five times fast) so if that one's out of your price range and you stumble across Cougar in a blog sale or some such, SNAP. IT. UP.
What I liked:
- Wear time ranged between four and six hours
- All but Pasties were non-feathering
- Most shades weren't drying/didn't cause any flaking
- Excellent colour pay off
- Pasties feathered like crazy
- Ace formed demarcation lines
