This next Vanishing Cabinet is based on one of my favourite shows from my childhood, Charmed! I rewatched all eight seasons (yep, I made it through season eight, teeth gritted, but I made it) right before Ally was born and remember cackling to myself and making all sorts of Charmed references under the influence of the gas during labour. That gas is amazing. And so is the show! One minute it's cheesy and dated and the very next minute you find yourself tearing up at an emotional scene or laughing out loud at the girls' antics. Phoebe was always my favourite as a child but Paige really grew on me during the rewatch. Which witch is your favourite?
The Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service from US-based indie brand Notoriously Morbid. The amount of products included seems to vary, but there are typically three to four products in each and occasionally six in special VCs. It's $13.25USD within the US and $20USD for international (including shipping), so a very reasonable monthly treat! You can sign up for the wait list here or purchase a one month trial (while available) here. Overstock is occasionally posted here.
All eyeshadow swatches are applied to bare skin (on the left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (on the right) using a patting motion and photographed under daylight bulbs.

The Wicca Wonder
The Wicca Wonder is a jewel-toned sparkling purple with a darker, muted base. I think it does a good job of representing Prue, who was in my view, the most emotionally complex of the girls, and wore a lot of dark clothing. It performs best over a sticky base.
For this look, I've used Walking Felony on the center of the lid, Just A Bratwurst on the lower lashline, The Wicca Wonder on the outer third of the lid, It's the Riche on the inner third, Done and Right Into The Woodchipper on the crease, He's Going Through Changes to blend out, It's the White Hats on the browbone and Gimme Some Sugar on the inner corner. The lashes are Ebay faux mink in the style A15.
Heart of the Family
Wow, this is such a complex eyeshadow! Heart of the Family is a light periwinkle with copper sparkles and pink shimmer. I didn't think I'd like it at all when I first swatched it but once I saw it on the lid I fell in love. The pink shimmer gives it the prettiest ethereal glow, I don't have anything quite like it in my collection. A lovely tribute to Piper.
Spell Caster
Spell Caster, Phoebe's shade, is the bluest purple of the set and like The Wicca Wonder, it's pretty sheer without a sticky base. Complimenting the blurple shimmer are fine pink and gold sparkles which make it very pretty. I like how vibrant it is, just like Phoebe.
Here I've used Gleaming on the crease, She's Got Gidget Hair for the transition, It's the White Hats on the browbone and inner corner, Montauk Monster on the lid and Spell Caster on the lower lashline. The lashes are these ones from Ebay in style 523.
Whitelighter Witch
Whitelighter Witch is a pale lilac grey with strong gold shimmer. It gives a gorgeous and flattering gold glow anywhere you apply it and has Notoriously Morbid's usual buttery, pigmented and blendable highlighter formula. Whitelighter Witch lasted eleven and a half hours on me, which just blew me away. I think a highlighter is a great tribute to Paige's whitelighter powers, don't you?
For this look I used 5 By 5 on the crease, He's Going Through Changes for the transition, It's the White Hats on the browbone, Forever Young on the outer half of the lid and lower lashline, Stop Drop & Roll on the inner half of the lid, Whitelighter Witch highlighter on the inner corner. The lashes are Ldianer 208 'mink' lashes from Ebay.
On my cheeks, I've paired Whitelighter Witch with Astrology blush and The End Finishing Powder.
I enjoyed the Charmed nostalgia trip with this VC, although I wish that some of the eyeshadows had been more opaque with a base. Purple is a notoriously difficult pigment though. What do you think of this set?
