I have another quintet of Notoriously Morbid eyeshadows to share with you today! I've been slogging my way through reorganising a tonne of stuff around here and with a tidier working area, the writer's block is slowly loosening its grip. What do you do to shift writer's block?
Packaging:
Notoriously Morbid have plenty of eyeshadow sizing options to suit everyone's preferences and budget. The mini-size ($2.75USD) has approx. 1/3 tsp of product in a 3g jar, the full size ($5.50USD) has approx. 1/2 to 3/4 tsp of product in a 5g jar and the deluxe size ($7.50USD) has approx. 1 to 1 1/4 tsp of product in a 10g jar. Personally, I always opt for the mini size, except where full size is the only option, as it's rare for me to finish an eyeshadow!
Formula overview:
I really enjoy Notoriously Morbid's eyeshadow formula. They're easy to work with, blend well, and are often completely unique to what's being put out by mainstream brands. Some shades, especially the more glittery ones perform best over a sticky base but can certainly be used on their own.
Swatch notes:
All eyeshadow swatches in this post are done two ways: applied on bare skin on the left-hand side and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, a sticky eyeshadow base which maximises colour intensity and sparkle, on the right. This is so you can see how they perform both ways. I take all of my photos with daylight bulbs for colour accuracy.
Lizard Man
When you think of swamps your first thoughts may gravitate towards Florida or Louisiana. South Carolina also has them and the Lizard Man. Numerous sightings of this 7 feet tall, 3 toed, 3 fingered, green-scaled reptile have been reported since 1988.
Lizard Man (permanent, vegan) is described as 'a brown base with a travelling shift of orange, pink, and golden green'. I adore this! It's packed with duochrome goodness and it's very pigmented - Lizard Man doesn't need a base to shine! It's part of the State of Fear permanent collection so you can pick it up any time.
Mother & Earth
Pay What Is Owed
Pay What Is Owed (discontinued, vegan) is a shimmering chartreuse with blue sparkles. It was part of the Seelie Court collection which was discontinued a while ago - wish I'd bought a back up! It has a semi-sheer base which makes it super versatile as the blue sparkles twinkle merrily away with or without a base. I've been using it for the inner corner for this reason although I really want to use it in a look where it's the star. Fingers crossed Carrie brings this back one day.
Welcome to Vinnland
Silent Samurai
Silent Samurai (discontinued, not vegan) is a medium purple with blue shimmer and pink and blue sparkles. It looks like foil over a sticky base! I'm not usually one for blue tones but this is just magnificent. It was originally from a past Vanishing Cabinet, from what I recall, but made a temporary return as a resurrected shade. It was really easy to work with.
Notoriously Morbid products are available from their website. I recommend joining the Notoriously Morbid Customer Crypt on Facebook for all the latest news.
