Hey lovelies,
A while ago MAC released their MAC is Beauty collection, a massive launch containing twelve lipsticks alongside a myriad of fluidlines, beauty powders, eyeshadows and more. A few of the lipsticks were repromotes from past limited edition collections so thankfully for my wallet I already had a few! I trucked along to the launch night and picked up Make Me Gorgeous but hope to add Real Redhead and Diva-ish to my stash soon.
I'm a little late to the party with these swatches - most of the MAC is Beauty collection is now sold out in New Zealand, although I checked in with the Kirkcaldie & Stains counter here in Wellington last week and they still had several tubes of Silly left. The US MAC website still seems to have most shades in stock.
Swatched on bare skin under daylight bulbs: Reel Sexy, Silly and Make Me Gorgeous
These are some of the brighter, more pigmented shades in the collection (which was dominated by Lustres). Reel Sexy and Make Me Gorgeous are both Amplifieds, characterized by full colour payoff and a semi-glossy finish. Silly is a Matte, again with complete opacity and a smooth matte formula which doesn't tug. MAC lipsticks have a vanilla scent (nom).

Reel Sexy
Reel Sexy is a 'bright coral' with an Amplified finish. It's a lighter, peachier coral than I typically go for but I like it. It applies smoothly and lasts for four hours on me without being drying. This shade first came out with the Reel Sexy collection in 2012.

Silly
Silly is a 'bright white pink' with a Matte finish. It first launched in Fashion Sets in 2013 and my tube comes from that launch. Silly is surprisingly unique - most neon pinks are more strongly blue based, but this is a touch warmer. I really love this colour! Silly applies fairly smoothly although as with most mattes, you'll want your lips to be in good condition before applying, the white base makes it particularly unforgiving of any errant lip flakes. It lasts for five hours on me and is somewhat drying approaching the end of wear.

Make Me Gorgeous
Make Me Gorgeous is an 'intense coral pink' with an Amplified finish. Honestly, I don't even care how many dupe-y shades of coral at this point. I love them all and will wear them from now until the end of time. You'll find me in an old folks home, still rocking the corals (and reds, of course). Make Me Gorgeous has all the hallmarks of a good coral, great colour pay off, smooth application and a five hour, non drying wear time. Definitely worth picking up.
What I liked:
- Wear time for all shades is between four and five hours
- Great colour pay off
- Reel Sexy and Make Me Gorgeous apply very smoothly
- Silly applies pretty smoothly and does not tug or pull at the lips
- Reel Sexy and Make Me Gorgeous are not drying
- Silly emphasises dry or flaky lips
- Silly was a bit drying by the end of wear
