Seriously, where has time gone? It feels like mere months ago that the MAC is Beauty collection (April 2015) launched and yet we're now days away from the end of 2016. Although, with the turbulence of this year, you may not think of that as a bad thing!
MAC is Beauty was a fun and punchy collection for spring, filled with pastels and brights and capped with a distinctly retro feel. If dramatically winged liner and pastel lip colours are your thing, this collection would definitely have been up your alley, although there were sufficient nudes and brighter pops of colour to please most MAC fans. I have two of the twelve lipsticks in the range to show you today, I reviewed three other shades from the collection last year.
Formula overview:
This collection was heavily populated with Lustres, a finish people tend to either love or hate. They can be drying and short-lived on the lips although I seem to have had pretty good luck with them and don't find many of them noticeably drying. There was also a lone Matte (Silly) in the collection and three Amplifieds: Make Me Gorgeous, Reel Sexy (both reviewed here) and Diva-ish. The Amplified finish is very pigmented and glossy and occasionally causes me feathering issues (more notably with red and vampy shades) but I didn't have any such issues with Diva-ish.
MAC lipsticks have a vanilla scent.

French Twist
French Twist is described as a 'light pink nude' and has a Lustre finish. It's a soft sheer peachy nude, one of my favourite kinds to slick on and go - they go with everything! French Twist lasts for three hours on me with some forming of lines although not enough to bother me hugely. It wasn't drying, either.
Diva-ish
Diva-ish is described as an 'intense fuchsia' with an Amplified finish. It's a warmer fuchsia than many in my collection and applies incredibly smoothly with rich colour payoff. On me, it lasted for five hours without feathering or being drying, after which it lingered as a stain.
- French Twist had even, sheer colour payoff
- Diva-ish had strong colour payoff
- Neither of them dried out my lips or feathered
- Wore for three to five hours
- French Twist formed some lines during wear
Are these your kind of lip colours?
