Despite not being a huge lipgloss wearer, a mixture of curiosity and collector compulsions led me to buy the Kiss & Tell Ultra Glossy Lip Kit ($24USD), one of the three record kits in ColourPop's Now Playing Holiday 2016 collection. I'd never tried their gloss formula and when all of their liquid lips were 20% off for Black Friday, it seemed like just the right excuse to take them for a whirl! A tenuous excuse, maybe, but an excuse nonetheless 😃
There are five glosses in this set, which come beautifully packaged in a large, sturdy cardboard record shaped box. The lipgloss packaging itself differs from ColourPop's usual silver caps and clear tubes, instead, the caps are black and the tubes are frosted, which looks very sleek. The applicator is a slim, angled doefoot.
Formula Overview:
The texture of these is very cushiony and smooth, it glides on the lips easily and doesn't feel sticky or tacky. You can feel the glitter in some of the metallic shades but it doesn't feel too gritty or uncomfortable. I found them to be hydrating and quite long wearing for lipgloss at four to five hours. Although these particular shades are all very glittery, it didn't migrate all over the place while I wore them, which I was pleased with - stray glitter is never ideal! They had no discernable scent.

This shade is also available individually, although the website currently notes that there is low inventory.
Flatline is described as a 'mid tone gold with multi dimensional glitter in a metallic finish'. It's a sheer gold glitter which appears quite gritty on the lips due to the larger glitter particle size and sheer base colour. As you may be able to tell, I'm not thrilled with it on its own! Used as a layering gloss though, it's stunning - I've put it over Trust Me Lippie Stix (reviewed here) a little further down. Flatline wore for five hours on me, was hydrating during that time and left behind a lot of sparkle.
Swinger is described as a 'cool-toned silver taupe in a metallic finish'. When I first pulled this out of the box, I was thinking 'eeep, what have I done?!' - it was much greyer than I'd expected! But on the lips, Swinger isn't nearly as intimidating. The silver-taupe base mutes my natural lip colour somewhat and the pearl and gold shimmer is very pretty. I'll probably use this primarily for layering! Swinger lasts five hours on me and is hydrating like the rest of the shades.
