As my wedding rapidly approaches I've been trying to really refine my skincare routine so I can (quite literally) put my best face forward on the big day. The trouble with this is that after two children my skin doesn't quite behave the way it did in my early twenties and the first fine lines are beginning to appear. I've been at a loss as to how to best care for my changing skin. Fortunately, ZA have come to my rescue with a skincare gift set that contains some core components for a skincare routine.

Each product is full sized and is available to purchase separately, but you'll save a lot by picking them up in this set. The various sets target a different skin concern; there's Perfect Solution (anti-aging), True White (brightening) and Total Hydration (self explanatory!). I have Perfect Solution to show you today.
Full disclosure and spoilers: I have now been using this skincare for a month, not yet the six weeks generally needed for skin to adjust to a new routine. But I wanted to get this review out for you guys now, while the sets are still on shelves. I can say that I haven't had any breakouts or adverse reactions and will be continuing to use the products.
The set comes packaged in a clear drawstring bag, very pretty and I have a mind to reuse it for future gifts!
Inside, you'll find three full size products: the Perfect Solution Cleansing Foam, Toner and Moisturizer.
The set also comes with a free and limited edition cosmetic bag which is roomy and feels very well made. It'll definitely make a wonderful travel bag, as it is lined with several pockets and even has a mirror on a strap attached inside. The skincare set fits in it easily with room for more toiletries.
ZA Perfect Solution Cleansing Foam, also available separately for $15NZD. ZA describes this as:
A moist type cleansing foam that gently removes excess surface cells with a fine, resilient lather to leave your skin feeling plump, firm and glowing.
A little goes a long way with this cleanser! It's a thick almost paste-like formula and you only need to use a pea sized amount to work up a lather that is closer to shaving cream in its viscosity than other cleansing foams I have tried. This does a great job of removing most makeup, but it's not quite strong enough for stubborn, long-wearing formulas like Estee Lauder Double Wear. It love that my skin feels really clean after using this, but it never feels stripped, dry or tight..
ZA Perfect Solution Toner, also available separately for $20NZD. ZA's description:
A moist type toner that helps tighten and balance the skin's pH level after cleansing.
I've never been too sure about toners, but this one is nice to use. It helps break down any stray makeup remnants and has a very runny thin formua. It does leave the skin feeling slightly sticky, which may be a deal breaker for some, but I find that Perfect Solution moisturizer mostly eradicates that sensation. One gripe I do have is that the directions advise me to 'apply an appropriate amount', but there's no indication as to what that appropriate amount might be. For a toner noob like myself, some clarity would have been appreciated.
ZA Perfect Solution Moisturizer, also available separately for $23NZD. ZA say:
This emulsion addresses age-induced skin problems, achieving firm, glossy skin. It has a fresh, dewy texture.
This is hands down my favourite item in this set. It is the thinnest, most lightweight moisturizer I have used, which you would think may not be so moisturizing, but it does such a wonderful job. It also absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and super hydrated.
If desired, you can supplement this set with the Perfect Solution Youth Whitening serum and Restoring Collagen Cream. I do wish there was an exfoliator within the range, but then again, I'm not sure you could tear me away from my Clinique Clarifying Lotion at the moment!
