Hey lovelies,
Sometimes buying a product for the name results in an unexpected win. Sometimes it's just plain dumb. This is one of those times.
I stumbled across Budlette lipstick on Trade Me pretty cheaply. I'd never heard of it before, but a quick Google showed me reviews on MakeupAlley that called it a 'holy grail frosty nude'. I was intrigued. More convincing though, was the name. Budlette reminded me of 'buddy', which is the pet name Mike and I have for each other and now our children, too. Everyone in our house is nicknamed buddy. We refer to our family as 'Team Buddy'. It's a whole big thing. So of course, I had to buy the buddy lipstick.
According to Temptalia, Budlette was a limited edition release in 2002 with the Fab Florals collection. Surprisingly for its age, it still has a faint vanilla scent.
Budlette is described as a 'creamy baby’s breath buff'. It's a sheer pale peach tinged beige filled with silvery-white shimmer. The sheerness and the shimer makes my lips look patchy, dry and flaky - just what you want in a lipstick, right?! Several reviewers on MakeupAlley mentioned Budlette makes a nice layering lipstick, so I may have to play around a bit, cause right now I am just not feeling it. Appearances aside, Budlette wore for four hours and was very comfortable to wear - I would even go so far as to say it was lightly hydrating.

What I liked:
- Non drying, lightly hydrating formula
- Wears for four hours without migrating or feathering
What I didn't like:
- Patchy colour pay off, which makes lips appear dry and flaky
