Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipsticks - Doll Parts and Hoe Hoe Hoe Swatches & Review

I was a bit slow off the mark when Jeffree Star launched his five-piece holiday lipstick collection this year and like everyone else who missed out on the sell out shade Androgyny, I'm now kicking myself for it! I'm so glad that the brand really listened to their customers and very quickly made the decision to bring back the shade and make it permanent in February.

My husband bought me two of the other four shades in the collection for Christmas and I am completely in love with them.

Formula overview:
These have a stellar formula! They're incredibly opaque, the consistency is neither too thick nor too thin, they're easy to control, non-tacky and have a quick dry down time. Once applied, they don't feather or smudge and wear for ages - everything I've wear tested from the brand so far has lasted at least five hours and some have even gone up to nine. Most shades aren't drying and I cannot detect any scent or taste to them.

The packaging for the holiday collection is slightly different to the permanent line up, capped with glossy white instead of the usual Barbie pink. I really like the clear wand stem, I don't know why that really appeals to me in the grand scheme of things but there it is :D The doefoot applicator is slightly concave to hug the lips and evenly spread the lipstick and it's quite pointed, which makes it easy to be precise. You get a decent amount of product in here too, 5.6ml for $18USD - comparatively, a Lime Crime Velvetine is 2.6ml for $20USD.

Doll Parts is described as a 'cool pink'. It's a medium mauvey pink which applies flawlessly. I wasn't a hundred percent sure I'd like this colour on me initially but as soon as I tried it on I was so glad that I took the gamble (hubby is a guided shopper). Doll Parts has outstanding wear time, lasting for eight hours without touch ups, and was not drying.

Hoe Hoe Hoe

Hoe Hoe Hoe is a deep red with purple and red sparkle. The glitter is visible when applied normally, but becomes more visible if you rub a finger or Q-tip gently across it. Similarly, as the lipstick slowly wears away over time the glitter comes through more strongly, which is in an effect I really like - a lipstick that looks even better over time?! Hell yes!
I wore Hoe Hoe Hoe on Christmas Day and it hung on through copious amounts of food with minimal touch ups. Without touch ups, it wears for five hours on me and is not drying.
