Hey lovelies,
Another day, another lipstick! There can never be too many! *cackles from beneath mountains of lipsticks*
This latest beauty was very sweetly gifted to be my friend Laura - thank you so much, Laura! It's Sparkling Rust from NYX's Diamond Sparkle line, which I believe to be discontinued.
Diamond Sparkle lipsticks come in glossy black tubes with a clear cap to show the colour inside. They feel pretty solid and close securely.
Sparkling Rust is a warm brick red with copper, gold and ruby shimmer. It has a smooth, lightweight texture that almost feels balmy - at one point I forgot I was wearing lipstick at all and thought I had lip balm on. The shimmer in Sparkling Rust is very smooth and doesn't feel at all gritty, though quite a lot is left on the lips after the colour has faded away. Speaking of fading, Sparkling Rust wore for four hours, didn't feather or bleed and it was moisturising, which was a really pleasant surprise!
Wearing Sparkling Rust
I'm a bit sad I never gave the Diamond Sparkle lipsticks more of a look before they were discontinued now, as I'd wrongly assumed that 'Diamond Sparkle' translated to 'frosssssst frosty frost frost'. I'm so glad to be wrong, Sparkling Rust in all its smooth shimmery goodness was a pleasure to wear. All is not lost however, as the Diamond Sparkle lipsticks are still relatively easy to find on Amazon, Beautyjoint, Trade Me and so forth.
What I liked:
- Moisuturising formula
- Good colour pay off
- Doesn't feather or bleed
- The sparkle isn't gritty
What I didn't like:
- Nothing!
