MAC Monday: MAC for Heatherette - Smooth Harmony Beauty Powder Swatches & Review

Hey lovelies,

I have a compact from one of the most coveted limited edition MAC collections to show you today! If you're a MAC fan with a penchant for the pink and sparkly, you've likely heard of the Heatherette collection, which launched in 2008 and has had MAC addicts clamouring to get their hands on a piece of it ever since. I was incredibly lucky and managed to find Smooth Harmony beauty powder cheaply in a local Facebook sales group recently. It's a bit faded, but it's mine, and I didn't pay Ebay prices for it! (Grab a chair and check out Ebay prices sometime. Dare ya.)

Holographic disco ball! How cool is that? The pink on the top of my compact is quite faded, the colour in the pictures below shows how it originally looked (which of course freaked my camera out).

Smooth Harmony is a bronze with orange undertones and a buildable, blendable texture. I'm so glad it has buildable colour pay off because with those orange leanings it could get way too easy to overdo it! Smooth Harmony lasts all day on me with no need for touch ups.
If you just love the colour, Smooth Harmony has seen a few more launches since 2008 (in face kits for Antonio Lopez in 2013 and A Tartan Tale in 2010, which may be easier to track down although the colour does sometimes seem to change slightly with different releases). It may yet crop up again!

What I liked:
  • Buildable colour pay off
  • Easy to blend out
  • Lasts all day
What I didn't like:
  • Nothing!

Do you lust after the Heatherette collection? Have anything from it?

  2. It does look really orange, it's kind of an odd one! I'm wearing it again today and it's really lovely and subtle. I think it's the beauty powder formula, they tend to be sheerer than the straight up bronzers.
