LA Girl Glazed Lip Paints - Babydoll, Bombshell and Coy Swatches & Review

Hey lovelies,

I don't have a great track record with liquid lipsticks. I flail in their general direction with lip liners, foundations and concealers, but the majority of them still leave me underwhelmed. Feathering, migration, product all over my teeth - no thanks! LA Girl's Glazed Lip Paints are an exception.

I'd been eyeing them up for a while before I was lucky enough to win a few of them in a giveaway and...

I may love them so much that I've now purchased all but one of the eighteen shades available (I skipped Gleam, a shimmery orangey brown). Here are the three shades that started it, Babydoll, Bombshell and Coy.

The LA Girl Glazed Lip Paints offer 'super intense color' and an 'extra glossy finish', which these three shades definitely deliver on. They come in squeezy tubes with a slanted plastic applicator. The applicator isn't very precise, so my preference is to use a lip brush first to outline my lips and then use the applicator to fill them in. I would have liked to see a sponge tip, like the Too Faced Melted lipsticks that these emulate have, or a doe foot applicator wand like the Australis Pout Pastes.
The Glazed Lip Paints have a light peppermint scent which mostly fades after an hour and they feel emollient on the lips - not tacky or sticky.

Babydoll is a light blue based pink. It has impressive opacity, particularly for a light shade and applied beautifully. Babydoll wore for four hours on me and was very comfortable to wear. It didn't migrate or feather.

Bombshell is a bright fuchsia pink. It's so saturated and I love it - definitely my favourite of these three shades. It wears for four hours, is comfortable to wear but had the tiniest amount of feathering after a few hours. The glossiness became more muted after two hours and there was a stain after the colour had worn away.

Coy is a bright medium purple which is slightly on the warmer side, but it's still a truer purple than generally seen in budget-friendly lipsticks. Like the other shades, it wore for four hours and was really comfortable to wear. Coy was ever so slightly more translucent than Babydoll and Bombshell and you can see a bit of my natural lip colour peeking through in the close-up. This wasn't really apparent in person, though.

What I liked:
  • All of the shades had great colour pay off
  • All of them wore for four hours
  • Coy and Babydoll did not feather, bleed or migrate
  • Really comfortable to wear - they are not drying at all.
  • No sticky or tacky texture
What I didn't like:
  • Difficult to get precise application with the slanted plastic tip
  • Bombshell had a very small amount of feathering
