MAC Monday: Naturally - A Perfect Day Lipstick Swatches & Review

Hey lovelies,

It's MAC Monday! Today I have a lovely nude lipstick to share with you, A Perfect Day from the 2011 Naturally collection. I don't really have any memory of this collection on counter, oddly; somehow it just completely slipped by me. I'm glad to have gotten acquainted with it now though.

A Perfect Day is a peachy opaque nude with an Amplified finish. It streaked a tiny bit over imperfections but it was otherwise very easy to apply. It wore for three hours and wasn't drying. A Perfect Day is unfortunately quite hard to find now and has become quite coveted, so if you're lusting after it I would suggest Lime Crime Coquette, which is incredibly close in colour, just a bit pinker.

What I liked:
  • Great opacity
  • Non drying

  • Streaks a little over imperfections

What do you think of A Perfect Day? Will you be hunting it down?

  1. It reminds me of Strip Poker a little bit. I haven't really tried any nudes like this, they seem like they'd be too light for me! I quite like it on you, though!

  2. Thanks Lexie! I was afraid of opaque nudes for a long time, I've only just warmed up to them in the last year really. Strip Poker is lighter again and more yellow based... I'm still not sure how I feel about that one!
    What nudes do you like?

  3. That is a super gorgeous nude on you! So flattering! I am still trying to get comfortable with these kinds of shades.

  4. Thanks Lizzy! They are hard to get used to. I started by pairing them with a sheer nude gloss, it felt less intense (weird way to describe an opaque nude, but there ya go) or just wore sheer shimmery nudes. MAC Patisserie is one of my favourites of that description, and ZA do some lovely ones too.

  5. Now that I think about it, I don't think I've tried any, actually! Only natural/MLBB sorts of colors which I only just found out are not quite the same as nude colors.

  7. This is a pretty nude, it looks gorgeous on you! I love nude lipsticks and I tend to buy nude lipsticks before I choose any other shades, my worst fear of nude lips products is that they might end up making me looked washed out etc... like Strip Poker did!

  8. That's why I was afraid of nudes for ages! I tend to choose reds from a lipstick range first :)
