NZ Indie Polish Month: Handmade By Kyleigh Birthday Bling Swatches & Review (+ YSL Wintergreen!)

Hey lovelies,

I have a very special polish to show you today, it's Birthday Bling by Handmade By Kyleigh, the polish she made for my birthday giveaway! Kyleigh absolutely spoiled me by sending me my own bottle and I'm excited to show it off a bit now :D

It took me a while to decide what to pair Birthday Bling with. I wanted to try it over a darker base so after some consideration I settled on YSL Wintergreen. I quite like it but now I want to try it over black and silver too :D And purple! All the layering!

Application was good, I used one coat over Wintergreen. There was a tiny bit of fishing for the larger glitter, I imagine because it's heavier - turning it upside down before application will put paid to that. The larger gold glitters have a slight reflective curl which you can see on my ring and middle fingernails. Again, a minor thing with an easy fix, just slap on a thicker topcoat and you'll be good as gold (Wordplay five!).

Wintergreen is a few seasons old now, I just love it. It's my only YSL and was a lucky bargain find on Trade Me. I've learned over the years never to delete things from my wishlist for fear of never being able to find them/afford them (YSL polish is around the $50 mark here - hell to the no!) because they have a funny way of popping up! The formula is buttery smooth and build easily in 3 coats. The shimmer is very shy but it's definitely there! Worth picking up if you find it.

With flash to bring out the shimmer a bit more!
