A few weeks ago, the follow-up to Caitlyn Jenner's popular online exclusive lipstick 'Finally Free' launched in New Zealand, a full collection of neutral and classic shades with product names that reflect MAC's All Ages, All Races and All Sexes creed. You'll find Compassion, Tolerance, Kindness and more in this range, all beautifully packed in rubberized matte black and elegant gold. I have four pieces from the collection to share with you today.
First up is the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in the shade Compassion (RRP $60NZD), which is housed in a domed compact like MAC's older Mineralize Skinfinishes, before they switched to the magnetic UFO-style packaging.
Compassion is described as a 'cool brown'. It's a warm golden bronze with sparse shimmer and a soft, finely-milled texture that is an absolute dream to apply and blend. Although I've used and loved the regular Mineralize Skinfinishes for years, I've never actually tried the Mineralize Skinfinish Natural range (which are typically used as setting powders) so I was pleased to find that Compassion lived up to the formula that I know and love. It lasted very well on my skin too,
I'm wearing Compassion as a bronzer with Peaches blush (LE) and Notoriously Morbid Autumn Moon highlighter.
Two permanent-range lip pencils have been repromoted in this collection: Soar (mid-tone pinkish brown) and Whirl (pictured). They're $38NZD each.
It wouldn't be a Jenner-related collection without Whirl thrown in the mix, would it? Although it's been part of the permanent range for years, Whirl reached new heights of infamy when Caitlyn's daughter Kylie Jenner revealed it to be one of her favourite lip pencils some time ago and it's since spawned a matching lipstick, which I reviewed here. Described as a 'dirty rose', it's the perfect 90s brown. Now that I've finally tried the original Whirl lip pencil, I can see why it's so popular - it's very pigmented and easy to apply, even when my lips were in rougher condition than usual, as you may have noticed in the above swatch. MAC's lip pencils always do a good job of prolonging wear time and preventing feathering on me, it's a formula I really like and regularly come back to.
Two lipsticks have graced our shores in this collection (there's a third online exclusive shade called Understanding on the US MAC site): Authentic Red (deep red Cremesheen) and Rockit! (pictured). These are $42NZD a piece.
Rockit! is described as a 'mid-tone beige' in a Cremesheen finish. It applies smoothly with mostly opaque coverage and wears for four and half hours on me without being drying. I like that it has a little more warmth and opacity than the nude MAC Lustres I often favour, such as Patisserie and French Twist.
Rounding out the lip component of the collection are the Cremesheen Glasses. There are three: Kindness (gold), Beautifully Bare (mid-tone beige) and Tolerance (pictured). They have an RRP of $50NZD each.
Tolerance is described as 'midtone purple'. I'm not quite sure what was going on with the person writing that colour description because it looks a little mauve in the tube, but purple seems like a major stretch! It's a sheer mauve pink with fine gold pearl. I really like this gloss, it applies evenly and I find the Cremesheen Glasses less sticky than MAC's regular Lipglass formula. They're also quite hydrating, so all around a pleasure to wear. Tolerance lasted just over three hours on me.
