Femme Fatale + The Polishing Life Just Like A Dream Nail Polish Swatches & Review

Late last year, Femme Fatale teamed up with three awesome bloggers to create collaboration trios: Very Emily, De Briz and The Polishing Life. All of the colours were gorgeous, but I limited myself to two shades from The Polishing Life's Just Like A Dream trio, Dropping Through Sky and End of the Storm. Although all of the collaboration trios were limited edition and only produced once, a few international stockists still have some shades if you're on the hunt for them. I spotted End of the Storm on Live Love Polish and both Dropping Through Sky and the trio set at Hypnotic Polish.

Swatch notes: I do not use base coat for my swatches and top coat is only used where noted. Everything was photographed using a three point lighting set up under daylight bulbs.

Dropping Through Sky

Dropping Through Sky is a light aqua with strong pink to gold shimmer and holographic sparkle. I just adore minty-aqua shades like this, especially when contrasting shimmer is involved, so I knew I had to get this! It's on the sheer side, requiring four thin coats to build opacity for me, although if you have less pronounced nail ridges you may be able to get by with three. Definitely worth it in my book as I love the colour so much! It dries a little dull on its own, so I added top coat for these swatches.

End of the Storm

End of the Storm is a thermal nail polish; in its cold state, it's a rich, royal purple with copper shimmer, copper hex glitters and a smattering of holographic glitter thrown in the mix. In its warm state, the purple base colour changes to a pale ivory gold. Most of the time it sits in it transitional state on me, gold with purple tips. With all of the glitter packed in there, this does dry with some texture, so I used top coat.

End of the Storm is so much fun to wear and although I loved it as soon as I saw swatches in the Femme Fatale Fiends group, I didn't anticipate how much more I would love it in real life! After swatching End of the Storm, I wore it for about a week and a half, which is a huge amount of time for me to wear the same nail polish, and it held up really well too, with only minimal tipwear after a week.
