Hey lovelies,
I have an absolute whopper of a post for you today! I have the full ZA Vibrant Moist lipstick range, which launched in New Zealand in January to share with you. I've reviewed two shades for you already here but thought it'd be easiest to include them in this post again to give you a complete picture of the shade range. Full disclosure; I received thirteen of the fifteen shades in the line for review and purchased the other two myself (OR222 and BE222) because it is a formula I truly enjoy. My opinions, as always, are my own - I was a fan and user of ZA long before their PR reached out to me.
These lipsticks come in a plastic box with all of the product information on it. The lipstick tubes themselves are really cool, the square tube combined with the angled top tricks my eyes into thinking that the square is twisting as it reaches the cap. The packaging is, sturdy, sleek and shiny in black and metallic pink, topped with the ZA logo. They feel far more luxurious than their very reasonable $18.00NZD price tag.

The Vibrant Moist formula is intended to:
- Provide intense moisture retention
- Provide smooth texture
- Prevent dryness and flaky lips
- Brighten dull lips and achieve vibrant colours
These do a great job of meeting those claims. It's a hydrating formula - not massively so, but your lips feel just as good after wearing one as they would with a light lipbalm. Wear time varies greatly depending on the depth of the shade, with the light shades generally clocking in around two and a half hours and the brighter and darker shades ranging from four to five hours. The lighter shades are far more susceptible to disappearing completely with a meal, while the darker shades will hang in there a little more. The Vibrant Moist lipsticks have a synthetic perfumey scent which isn't overpowering or unpleasant.
All of the shades, whether sheer or opaque, have smooth and even colour pay off which is an impressive feat with traditionally difficult hues like PK291s. They don't catch on flakes or emphasise flaws, instead skimming over them and providing a smoothing effect.
The only shades I had any issue with were the two reds RD444 and RD555, which I experienced very minor feathering with (normal for me with most reds, particularly the glossy kind). I'd also like to mention how much I prefer products with real names rather than codes, like these have - they just don't stick in my head and I'm liable to sit there endlessly uncapping various shades to find the one I want. ZA have given proper names to many of their other products, please let them come up with some names for these!
On the whole, I'm a fan of this formula. There is a multitude of 'my lips but better'/MLBB shades so they're great to slick on with virtually any makeup combination knowing it'll look good and there are a few punches of colour too. I'd love to see them introduce a brighter orange, some purples, a sheer orchid... fingers crossed ;)
Now, onto the swatches!
*
PK212s
PK212s is a light peachy coral with subtle gold shimmer. It wore for two and a half hours on me.
*
PK291s
PK291s is a cool toned baby pink. Not my favourite on me, I think it washes me out but I'll give it another go with more flattering bronze tones on my eyes and see what I think then! I appreciate how even it is for such a light shade. This one wore for two and a half hours as well.
*
PK341s
This is more my jam, PK341s is a pinky coral with subtle shimmer that is more visible in the tube than on the lips. Another two and half hour one.
*
PK381s
PK381s is a fairly neutral rose pink. This had the shortest wear time at two hours.
*
PK444
Be still my heart! PK444 is SO me, a vibrant coral pink. It's really close to MAC Impassioned, just a hair lighter. See? Being one of the more saturated shades in the range, PK444 wore for four hours with some light staining.
*
BE222
BE222 is a warm nude brown, very flattering and easy to wear. It wears for two and a half hours on me. This is one of the ones I picked out in store and I really like it because it's devoid of shimmer, which is a bit different to the usual glossy nudes I choose.
*
OR222
OR222 is a light orange based coral and is one of the glossiest of the lot. It wore for two and half hours. Not sure what's happening with my derpface below, behave yourself lips...
*
RS342s
RS342s is slightly darker and rosier version of PK381s. Another one I really love. This one has a very subtle shimmer and wears for three hours.
*
RS371s
RS371 is another cooler toned shade, kind of a cool raspberry. Two and a half hours wear.
*
RS444
RS444 is another stand out shade for me, a super bright honeysuckle pink that wears for five hours and leaves a small amount of staining behind.
*
RS451s
I'm not gonna lie, these next two are really close to eachother and I think ZA could have probably skipped one. Not that they aren't both pretty because they are - but near identical shades in a line up seems a bit defunct. RS451s is a warm medium tone pink with ultra subtle shimmer and a four and a half hour wear time. Was not expecting that. Well played, RS451s.
*
RS461s
RS461s is again, a warm medium pink. It's slightly lighter than RS451s and bears a slightly frosted shimmer. It wore for two and half hours.
*
RD444
RD444 is a stunning cherry red with intense colour pay off and a glossy finish. It lasts for five hours and stains quite a bit after removal. I experienced minor feathering with this shade toward the end of wear.
*
RD555
*
RD777
The final shade, RD777, is a warm red toned brown. I can totally see Morgan from Hyacinth Girl (aka Queen of Brown Lipstick) rocking this! RD777 is another shade with a good wear time, lasting five hours.
What I liked:
- Great colour pay off
- They apply smoothly without emphasizing any flaws
- Somewhat hydrating formula, lips never feel dry wearing them
- They do not migrate or gather around the inner part of your mouth
- Wear time ranges from two to five hours
What I didn't like:
- RD555 and RD444 feathered a tiny bit on me after a few hours
Where to buy:
- Selected pharmacies nationwide
- Makeup Direct
- Japan Mart
- Ebay
Have you tried any ZA Vibrant Moist lipsticks? Adding any to your wishlist now? :D

Lani
shut up and take my money. These look sooooo nice. Kind of like Revlon Lip Butters, one of which I'm about to finish. I think as soon as I do I'll replace it with one of these, that way i kind of feel like it's not breaking my no-buy lol. Such a mammoth effort! How do you get it all done?!
ReplyDeleteHaha, you're right, it totally doesn't count if you're replacing something!
ReplyDeleteLots of lip balm and little sleep :D
