Hey lovelies,
Today's Darling Girl is another blush, this time a lavender one, Haute Hollyhock. I purchased a sample size from Darling Girl, but it is also available in a full size jar (10g with approximately 1 tsp of product) or a Petit (3g jars with approximately 1/4 tsp of product). According to the website, samples contain approximately 1/8 tsp of product, but my bag is labelled 1/4tsp.
From the Darling Girl website:
Our Inner Glow blushes impart a soft halo of color onto your cheeks with this delicate powder that subtly reflects the light and casts a luminous glow. From soft golden sheens to a funkier green glow, don't worry these are very soft sheen that you give you that "Inner Glow"
Applied heavily/sheered out
Haute Hollyhock is described as a 'bright magenta with a soft blue duochrome'. I see the base as more of a dark lavender pink. It looks quite heavy on my arm, but applied to cheeks Haute Hollyhock is very subtle, though it can be built up. Loose blushes can sometimes be trickier to work with, but Darling Girl's formula is generally an exception as they tend to be buildable and super blendable. Much better to build the colour up as required than to over-apply and have to spend ages buffing it out for dear life, in my opinion!
I really can't see any of the blue shimmer on my cheeks, just a hint of fuchsia, but it certainly adds interest to the colour in the baggie. Haute Hollyhock lasts around seven hours on me.
What I liked:
- Buildable colour pay off
- Blends out easily
- Wears for seven hours
What I didn't like:
- I would have liked to see the blue shimmer translate on the cheeks more
Where to buy:
- Darling Girl products can be found on their website, don't forget that you can use my code LANILOVES to save 10% on your order.
