Hey lovelies,
April 1st is gearing up to be the most exciting day ever for Femme Fatale fans. The brand is launching a bunch of goodies, including new COTMs, limited run returns of fan favourite eye shadows and nail polishes, a sample sale and of course the April collection presale. If you're not already a member of the Femme Fatale Fiends Facebook group I highly recommend signing up so that you can get in on all the goss - not to mention the group exclusive eyeshadow and nail polish shades!
I have the April presale shades to show you today - fair warning, this is a picture heavy post. These nail polishes are complex and amazing and they need multiple photos to show them off! #Sorrynotsorry
This collection comes in the standard white boxes. I love the look of them all lined up in my helmer! Each bottle is 9ml and retails for $9.50AUD (exclusive of GST for international customers - including GST for Australian customers, they will be $10.45).
Can you spot a theme? The April collection is loosely based on Snow White and Grimms' fairy tales.
All lined up - aren't they stunning?

Poisoned Apple
Femme Fatale - Poisoned Apple, 3 coats

Glisten & Glow - HK Girl topcoat
A dusty blue base which glows with lavender shimmer and holo sparks. It dries a little more muted alone, so I added topcoat to bring out the shimmer.

Who is Fairest of Them All?
Femme Fatale - Who is Fairest of Them All?, 3 coats alone
2 coats over Kleancolor - Black (1 coat)
Soooo I didn't actually realise Who is Fairest of Them All? was a thermal when I swatched it! I was painting my nails and looking at the bottle colour and the swatch stick I'd done and was getting very confused until I spotted a hint of deeper purple along my free edge.
"I think this is a thermal!" I announced to my husband, flapping my hands at him excitedly.
"Cool, bud," he replied, eyeing me with mild amusement while I pressed my fingertips to the cold of his beer bottle and peered at them, looking for a change.
As you can see, I got it to change. It was a hot night when I swatched this and Mike had to put up with me running back and forth from my lighting set up to his beer bottle to get the colour change to show up again. If you have longer nails than I currently do you won't have to have work hard at all to get the change to show because it is actually very sensitive; it was just the warm night and short nails not giving it much room to perform on its own :)
The colour shift doesn't show so much over black, but the glitter looks pretty cool that way. I love Who is Fairest of Them All? on its own though. It's delicate yet blingy and a pleasure to apply.

Weed in Her Heart
Femme Fatale - Weed in Her Heart, 3 coats
2 coats over Kleancolor - Black (1 coat)
Hnnnnggggghhhh. Weed in Her Heart is another favourite from this collection. Although I generally prefer my polishes to eschew the visible nail line, I can't say no to this vibrant teal, especially when it has gorgeous contrasting pink shimmer! I think if you layered this over matching undies you'd have a perfect Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily dupe. Although sheer, it's not streaky and it looks lovely over black too.

Glass Coffin
Femme Fatale - Glass Coffin, 3 coats
By the time I got to Glass Coffin in my swatchathon I was wise to the ways of sneaky thermals and was on the look out for a colour shift - this one didn't disappoint! Glass Coffin is a little sheer but was mostly opaque after three coats. This was a surprise favourite of mine :)
Sorry about the fuzziness - I was rushing to get the shots before the colour changed back!
I couldn't bear to take Glass Coffin off after I finished swatching, so here's a shot from the next day. It was a really cold morning so you can see the complete colour change!

Art of Witchcraft
Femme Fatale - Art of Witchcraft, 3 coats
+
Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat
Another absoluely mindblowing shade. How does Sophie cram so much awesomeness into one bottle without it turning into a hot mess? Her ability to balance all these elements is just phenomenal. There's a lot of glittery goodness going on here so Art of Witchcraft dries with a little texture, but nothing a lick of HK Girl can't take care of.

Mirror, Mirror on the Wall...
Index & pinky: Femme Fatale - Mirror, Mirror on the Wall..., 3 coats alone
Middle: Femme Fatale - Weed in Her Heart, 3 coats + Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... 1 coat
Ring: Kleancolor - Black, 1 coat + Mirror, Mirror on the Wall... 2 coats
+
Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat
Here's another really versatile polish. I've layered Mirror Mirror on the Wall over Weed in Her Heart (my favourite combo) and a black creme to show you how it looks over different bases but as you can see it is just as blingy on its own! I really can't get enough of the pinky purple shimmer Sophie favours, it never gets old for me. This is a really glittery one so I used some top coat to smooth things out.

Bodice Lace
Femme Fatale - Bodice Lace, 2.5 coats
+
Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat
Last but not least is Bodice Lace, a vibrant royal purple. There's some magenta glitter in here which dominates but there's flecks of other colours too - I'm sure I spy some teal. I used 2 and half coats because I flubbed application and didn't apply Bodice Lace as evenly as I could have on some nails, but by painting more carefully you can definitely get it opaque in two coats. I used a bit of top coat to smooth out the glitter on this one too.
The Femme Fatale April presale will run from 9am AEST April 1st until 10pm April 5th (AEST = Australian Eastern Standard Time) on the Femme Fatale Cosmetics website, which ships worldwide. Shades should also be available from their international stockists:
- Mei Mei's Signatures
- Color 4 Nails
- Rainbow Connection UK (Use this link to get 10% off your first purchase at Rainbow Connection)

Are you lusting after any of these beauties? Planning to order anything from the April presale?
X
