Hey lovelies,
Sorry for the brief interruption to this feature, I'm slowly catching up on a month's worth of photo editing at the same time as I photograph a tonne more! I feel like I'm gradually catching up but it would all go a lot quicker if I could lock myself in a room for a week with a computer and a large vat of coffee :D
Anyway, what you've come to see: eyeshadow!
Darling Girl Cosmetics is a US based indie cosmetic company who offer varying sizes of their eyeshadow and face products for very reasonable prices. I purchased:
- The Bloggers Review Kit ($4USD - 4 sample bags containing 1/8 tsp of product & 1 Petit, containing 1/4 tsp)
- A Mix & Match Sample Set ($4 - 5 baggies)
- And a selection of the international only sample bags, which I can no longer find on the site.
Left: Applied dry/Right: Applied over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy
King Kong hails from Darling Girl's Oh the Horror! collection, a round up of classic movie monsters and villains, and is described as 'black with strong turquoise flash and silver and gold sparkles.' It's quite sheer when applied dry but comes to life over a sticky base. Once again I'm reminded that I need to try Darling Girl's Glitter Glue! I really love how complex the sparkles make this shade. It was pretty easy to work with and I didn't have any trouble with fall out.
What I liked:
- Fabulous colour payoff over a sticky base
- Pretty easy to work with, no fall out
- Super reasonably priced - $2.50 for a Petit, $5.90 for a Full Size jar, or try a Mix & Match sample set (5 samples for $4 - all prices in USD)
- Very sheer without a sticky base
- Darling Girl products can be found on their website, don't forget that you can use my code LANILOVES to save 10% on your order.
