MAC Japanese Maple Lipstick Swatches & Review

Japanese Maple is a lipstick from MAC's permanent line that I confess I probably would have overlooked at the counter if I hadn't won it in a giveaway. I don't have a lot of confidence with nude lipsticks, particularly of the pale variety and tend to stick to warm rosy browns - not that there's anything wrong with that! But I have often seen other girls rocking a pale nude and found myself wondering if I could pull that look off.

MAC Japanese Maple Lipstick Swatches & Review

Japanese Maple is described as 'frosted light nude'. The frosted aspect is incredibly subtle, more of a sheen than a true frost, which is just how I like it :) Japanese Maple has a cremesheen finish and has great colour pay off and opacity for a lighter shade. If you like the look of shades like Myth, Creme d'Nude and Fleshpot but don't feel brave enough for them (I'm working my way up to trying Myth!) or if they're too cool toned for you then Japanese Maple could be a great option, because it's a little darker than those shades and has an underlying warmth. Wear time was above average for a light coloured lipstick, lasting just under four hours without being drying and it didn't gather or bunch up during the course of wear either.
