Another gem from MAC's permanent line for you today. I tried this on at one of the Smith & Caughey's counters during a recent trip to Auckland and although I liked it, I wasn't sure if it was too cool toned for me or not. A short while later I had gathered enough Back 2 MAC empties to swap for a free lipstick (not sure what Back 2 MAC is about? Click here!) so I thought what better reason to take a chance on Blankety?
Blankety is indeed quite cool toned, described as a 'soft pink beige' by MAC but when I was considering getting this shade a friend observed that she'd been unable to make it work on herself due to the purple undertones. That might sound a little crazy, looking at the nude lipstick above, but in some lights the purple undertones are more obvious - I found this article on understanding undertones in color really fascinating. You might too!
Back to Blankety - it has great colour pay off and application with an amplified finish. Blankety wears for a little over four hours on me and is minimally drying towards the end of wear.
What I liked:
