If there's one thing I can never have enough of, it's red lipsticks (unless you ask my husband, he'll probably give you a different answer. Let's not ask him). I've become a bit more selective in recent times but was still unable to pass up this beautiful YSL Rouge Pur Couture lipstick in the shade #55 Rouge Anonyme/Luminous Red when I found it on sale at Smith & Caugheys earlier in the year.
Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks are resplendent in luxurious gold packaging and have a soft close cap. The YSL logo etched into the bullet is a small touch that makes the lipstick that much more special.
Rouge Anonyme (Luminous Red in the US) is a pinky red with mostly opaque colour pay off and fine ruby shimmer. Like other shades in the Rouge Pur Couture range, Rouge Anonyme has a smooth formula with some slip, making application a breeze and the wear very comfortable. It's not so slippery as to cause feathering or unevenness though. Rouge Pur Couture lipsticks apply with the initial glossiness of a MAC Amplified, then settle to a satin finish over time. Rouge Anonyme wore for five and half hours.
YSL's strong mango scent you'll either love or hate - I'm definitely a fan but everyone's different, so you may wish to take a sniff at your nearest YSL counter before purchasing to see what you think. What I liked:
- Even colour pay off
- Non drying
- Non feathering
- Smooth, easy to apply formula
- Wears for five and a half hours
- Nothing except the price ($59NZD)! YSL lipsticks are definitely a luxury buy, but worth it in my opinion.
- Fresh Fragrances & Cosmetics
- Ebay
- Farmers NZ (sold out online but still in stock at selected stores, the 'check stock in store' function is super handy!), RRP $59NZD
