There's a huge variety of colours and finishes in this collection, with some brighter pops of colour reminiscent of the cheery suburbia depicted in the film and more muted and neutral tones. Lots of cooler colours, which is always a good challenge for me as warmer hues are definitely my comfort zone! Overall I think there's something for everyone here. My favourites wound up being Avon Calling, Because You Asked, Haircut Anyone and I'm Not Finished. I'd love to hear yours!
Susan at Darling Girl recently announced that she will begin seasonally retiring the holiday collections and bringing them back at later dates. Snow in Love will be available in the shop until the end of month and return next holiday season.
For this look I used Because You Asked on the inner corner with ColourPop So Quiche on the lid and the Chi Chi Extravaganza palette for the transition/blending colours.
The Snow in Love collection is available at Darling Girl until the 31st of January. Darling Girl eyeshadows are available in two sizes: the full size jar ($6USD) is 5g with a sifter and special artwork, a Petit jar ($2.50USD) is 3g with no sifter and a standard DG lid sticker. Don't forget that you can use my code LANILOVES to save 10% on your order. I highly recommend joining the Darling Girl Glitter Haven Facebook group for sneak peeks and all the latest news and updates.

All shimmery eyeshadows are swatched over bare skin on the left and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy on the right. Pixie Epoxy is a sticky eyeshadow base designed to grab onto and intensify glitter and shimmer, Darling Girl have their own Glitter Glue which is a similar product - I'm just using what I currently have handy! The mattes are applied on bare skin and I photograph everything under daylight bulbs.
Formula wise, Darling Girl are incredibly consistent. I've never come across a dud in the range (and I've accumulated an embarrassing amount) and they are, on the whole, very pigmented and easy to work with. Some shades, especially the more glittery ones perform best over a sticky base but can certainly be used on their own. I almost always use a sticky base on my eyelids with any shimmery indie eyeshadow, but prefer not to use one on my lower lashline, so that's what you'll see in the makeup looks unless otherwise noted.

He Skewered Kim
He Skewered Kim is a golden champagne with excellent opacity and a soft, buttery texture. I wore this on the lid in the makeup look further down, but it would be a gorgeous inner corner highlight or even on cheeks!
I'm Not Finished
I'm Not Finished is a medium brown matte shade which works wonderfully as a transition shade. I've been really enjoying exploring more of Darling Girl's matte formula lately and I've been so impressed! They are incredibly soft and blendable while still maintaining excellent colour pay off.
We're Not Sheep
We're Not Sheep is a clean matte white with excellent opacity and texture. It's ultra blendable and not chalky in the slightest.
For this look I used heaps of Darling Girl! He Skewered Kim on the inner half of the lid, I'm Not Finished on the crease and We're Not Sheep on the inner corner. The colour used on the outer half of the lid is The Apocalypse... Not, a discontinued shade.

Backroom Striptease
Backroom Striptease is a slightly muted aqua with pink sheen. Although it's not a dupe for Haircut Anyone? the colour combination seems similar enough that I don't think both were really necessary in the same collection.
Dancing in the Snow
Dancing in the Snow is a cool white with pink sheen and iridescent glitter. Absolutely gorgeous! I can never resist super shimmery whites like this.
For this look I used Dancing in the Snow on the inner corner with Backroom Striptease on the inner half of the lower lash line. The main lid colour is another Darling Girl shade, Love's A Witch - unfortunately discontinued! I've also used a MAC Colourdrenched Pigment called Tonight's the Night on the outer half of the lower lashline and a MAC eyeshadow, Evening Aura, on the inner third of the lid.
Blending Is The Secret
Blending is the Secret is a periwinkle blue with strong pink shimmer. I have a weakness for periwinkle/cornflower blues like this, even though they're not terribly flattering on me. Maybe it's a sentimental thing - my mum loves this kind of colour! Whatever the reason, I'm digging Blending is the Secret, which gets its name from one of my favourite scenes in the movie. This one's best over a sticky base for maximum sparkle.
Haircut Anyone?
Haircut Anyone? is a teal green with strong violet shimmer - it reminds me a lot Rescue Beauty Lounge Aqua Lily nail polish! It's strongly pigmented with or without a sticky base, but the violet sheen is so much stronger with one.
This was a fun, bright look to wear! I used Haircut Anyone? on the inner half of the lid and Blending is the Secret on the inner half of the lower lashline with several other Darling Girl shades: Basket Case on the outer half of the lower lashline (permanent) and Ugly Naked Guy on the crease, Crap Bag on the outer half of the lid and I Wasn't Supposed To Tell Her? on the inner corner (all from the upcoming Friends Central collection).

Because You Asked
Because You Asked is a pale champagne pink with peachy shimmer. It's ridiculously pretty as an inner corner highlight although my pictures don't really do it justice. Sorry about that! I think I might try it all over the lid next.
I used Because You asked as a cheek highlight here. It's super sparkly and blingy as a cheek highlight, so possibly not everyone's cup of tea, but I had fun wearing it!

Razor Sharp Karate Chop
Razor Sharp Karate Chop is a super sparkly metallic silver with incredible pay off and performance both alone and over a base. Oddly I don't have much in the way of silver eyeshadow, so this is a welcome addition to my collection!
Scissors, Paper, Stone
Scissors, Paper, Stone is a cool grey with a matte base and heaps of pink shimmer. On its own it's a pale dove grey, while over a sticky base it becomes much deeper and smokier in tone.
I decided to put the greys in this collection into a smokey eye, which is definitely out of my comfort zone but I actually quite liked it in the end! I used Scissors, Paper, Stone over a sticky base on the inner half of the lid and Razor Sharp Karate Chop on the inner corner and inner half of lower lashline. I also used Still Fangirling (a previous COTM shade) on the outer half of the lid, a L'Oreal Smokissime Liner (Taupe Smoke) very lightly to line my upper lashline and the Chi Chi Extravaganza palette for transition shades.

Avon Calling
Avon Calling is a light lavender purple with a plethora of blue shimmer and larger iridescent sparkles. It applies really nicely on its own and the sparkle adheres well but if you really want to bring the glitter out to play, go for the sticky base!
This Is Lemonade?
This Is Lemonade? is a buttery yellow which takes on some mustard tones when applied over a sticky base. It's speckled with strong pink shimmer and is very easy to work with.
For my final look for this collection, I paired This is Lemonade? on the inner half of the lid with Fira (discontinued) and Bob-B-Q (past COTM) on the outer half and centre of the lid respectively. As if Avon Calling wasn't already gorgeous enough on its own, I smudged black liner along my lower lashline and patted Avon Calling over that, which brings out all the incredible blue shimmer. I also used Slave For Sensation from the Matte I'd Like To Find collection as a transition shade.
