Hey lovelies,
I got my first taste of Urban Decay's Revolution lipstick formula when I bought the Full Frontal Lip Stash over Christmas (which I awkwardly have not yet reviewed...) and was immediately hooked. I snapped up Native in a bulk lot earlier in the year and have since acquired a few more. They're definitly sparking a 'gotta catch em all' mentality! For now though, let's take a peek at Native.
The Revolution lipstick tubes are shiny gunmetal coloured with purple inside. The shape of the tube itself is rippled, making it fun and a bit different from my other lippies. The UD logo (not pictured) is embossed in the cap and printed along the cap and the whole thing has a decent heft to it. I like this packaging a lot. No traditional teardrop shaped lipstick bullet here, but the rounded shape is still easy to get a good shape with; I applied my swatch neat from the tube.
Native is a warm light pink that's neutral enough to pass as a nude/natural lip for me. It reminds me of the natural pink often worn by Stana Katic as Kate Beckett on Castle, if you're a fan of the show too - I always love how her makeup is done! Colour pay off is lovely; creamy and opaque. Because it has a fairly emollient, slightly thick texture, Native is prone to forming lines when your lips are pressed together but they are subtle.
The application is smooth and forgiving of flakes. Native wore for just under five hours on me without being drying. I think I can pick up a super faint sweet floral scent, but it's subtle enough that I might also be imagining it :D
What I liked:
- Great colour pay off
- Wears for just under five hours
- Applies smoothly
- Non drying
- Nothing!
Have you tried any Urban Decay lipsticks?
X
