Moisture Mist BB Cream Swatches & Review

Provided for review

Hey lovelies,

My eldest has recently started morning kindergarten. Earlier starts, longer kindy sessions, constant tantrums from tiredness - it all takes a toll on the little guy and I can't say I've been enjoying the side effects of this transition either!
All of this means that I've begun favouring a super light makeup routine on our newly busy mornings. I pop on a bit of lipstick and use the same shade as a cream blush, run a brow pencil and spooly through my brows (ZA Brow Liners are great for this), mascara on my top lashes and of course a quick dab of BB Cream; something with enough coverage to even out skintone and imbue my complexion with a little glow to hide the tiredness. Moisture Mist's BB Cream is perfect for this! Read on to find out why.

  • Keep shine at bay with Oil Control Powder

Moisture Mist BB Cream Swatches & Review

Swatched heavily (left) and sheered out (right) on bare skin under daylight bulbs

The Moisture Mist BB Cream is an okay match for my skintone, a little too warm but passable. For reference, I wear MAC NC15, Estee Lauder 1N1 Ivory Nude (Double Wear) and 1C1 (Perfectionist) and ZA OC0W. It has light, even and buildable coverage and applies smoothly on my oily-combination skin. I also have a few stubborn scaly bits at the moment and it's quite forgiving of those. I tried using both a dampened sponge and my fingers and both yielded a nice application.
I'm not overly fond of the strong floral fragrance this has, although it's not intolerable and becomes less noticeable after an hour or so. I wish the lasting power was a bit better too, I get six hours wear after which it becomes increasingly faded and patchy before disappearing. For me to be truly happy with the results all day, I add a bit of concealer and translucent powder, but if I just want to look a little more polished for morning errands, the six hours is sufficient.
