Notoriously Morbid Mystic Matte - Oscillate Wildly Swatches & Review

Notoriously Morbid's Mystic Mattes have been one of my favourite liquid matte lipstick formulas since I first tried them but they speak to the collector in me, too. Our is a multi-faceted love. In addition to the comprehensive permanent colour range and Mystic Monthly subscription (see the first three instalments of that here), Color of the Month shades and Customer Created Color of the Month/Crypt Creations shades are occasionally released. Here are a couple of the past releases, sometimes Carrie from NM does bring shades back by popular demand, so keep those fingers and toes crossed and you never know!

Notoriously Morbid Mystic Matte - Oscillate Wildly Swatches & Review

Oscillate Wildly is an interesting warm tan shade with golden-green shimmer. I wasn't mad on it at first but as you naturally press your lips together during the course of wear, the shimmer becomes more and more prominent and really transforms the colour - I'm sorry that I don't have pictures of that! I hope this comes back someday. Oscillate Wildly lasted for five hours and wasn't drying. It was the August 2016 Customer Created Color of the Month, inspired by the song of the same name by The Smiths.

Evil Woman is a metallic blackened cherry. It reminds me quite a lot of the discontinued Ancient Mystic Matte, Hatshepsut, but with finer shimmer and an overall redder look - Hatshepsut leans more towards purple. I find Evil Woman to be on the sheer side but the formula is pretty easy to build up and doesn't streak or cake while doing so. It lasted six hours on me and wasn't drying. This was the January 2016 COTM.

Dagon is a pale lavender with strong green sheen. This is so unique and cool! I don't know that it really suits me but I can't bring myself to part with it either... lipstick addict problems, huh? Dagon goes on smoothly with excellent colour payoff and a green sheen that becomes more dominant over the course of wear. This was insanely popular when it released, I wouldn't be surprised if it resurfaced one day. On me, Dagon lasted five hours. It was the June 2016 Customer Created Color of the Month.

The Stay duo was the May 2016 COTM, inspired by the Shakespear's Sister song 'Stay'.

Think of Me is described as a 'dark pink with violet sheen'. I reswatched this recently and was reminded of how much I love it! I really must pull it out more often. It's a very pigmented pink with a stellar seven and half hour wear time.

Notoriously Morbid Mystic Matte - Break the Spell Swatches & Review

Break the Spell is described as a 'gray purple loaded with blue and violet sparkles'. It's so much fun to wear, especially as the sparkle comes out more during wear. Although sheerer than Think of Me, it still packs enough pigmentation to keep me happy. Break the Spell lasted seven and a half hours on me.
