Faby Posh Mini Set Swatches & Review

Winter has officially settled upon us in New Zealand, which makes me crave nail polish shades as cozy as the knits I'm rugging myself up in. Although I'm not a huge believer in seasonal colours, I've got to admit I do tend to gravitate towards them anyway and Faby's Posh collection foots the bill nicely.

Faby says the collection is 'inspired by women who are exquisitely elegant, classy and ageless, who are always true to themselves and live for the pleasure of living' and 'also by timeless style icons, such as Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn'. It features twelve shades (RRP $20NZD each) and a mini collection containing four of their top picks (RRP $30NZD).

I've talked about Faby's minis before as I really like the format, the brushes are easy to use and they're a good size for those of us unlikely to finish a full-size bottle anytime soon. I'm less keen on the mini set's box packaging as the bottles sit quite loosely in the flimsy cardboard, making the potential for them to be broken during shipping much higher.

Moving on to the colours, though - all of these swatches are without base or top coats and are photographed under daylight bulbs.

Faby - Jackie @ Capri, 3 coats

Jackie & Capri is a light, warm peach with a creme finish. I do apologise for the state of my cuticles here! These things always show up so much worse on camera than they do in real life, don't they? 😓 This is a very pretty neutral shade and the opacity was decent too. I experienced a small amount of bubbling, so I'd recommend taking your time between coats to prevent this.

Faby - Via Montenapoleone, 3 coats

Via Montenapoleone is a slightly taupe-leaning chocolate brown creme. It was mostly opaque in three coats, with some very slight streaking where my nail ridges are more prominent. A ridge-filling base coat would sort this out, I just prefer to swatch without any base coat to see how the polish performs on its own. Some bubbling cropped up with this shade too. It's so lush though, I'm really feeling it for winter!

Faby - Bond Street Is My House, 3 coats

Bond Street Is My House is a raspberry creme. This one is year-round gorgeousness. Doesn't it look juicy? As with Via Montenapoleone, I noticed some streaking over my ridges but it wasn't noticeable in person.

Faby - Rouge Foncé, 3 coats

Rouge Foncé is a vampy oxblood creme. Ohhhh, how I love this. Opaque in three coats but with a lingering squishy jelly vibe, this colour makes me want to accent it with some white half moons and put on a flapper dress. Delicious.
