ColourPop Lippie Stix - Aquarius, Mosh Pit and TGIF Swatches & Review

Despite my dalliances with the Ultra Matte and Ultra Satin formulas, ColourPop's Lippie Stix continue to be my favourite lipstick formula for the brand. Here are a few I acquired earlier in the year, all permanent.

The packaging for the Lippie Stix is a glossy white twist up slim tube with a slanted lip bullet. I really like the smaller surface area of this lipstick style as it allows more precision than your traditional larger teardrop shaped bullet. Each lipstick has a coloured end cap which matches the colour inside as well as a label with the name and finish.

Formula Overview:
The Lippie Stix formula seems to be divisive among makeup lovers but personally, on the whole, I really enjoy it. The shades I have to show you today are a mixture of Matte and Creme. All are richly pigmented; the Creme finish is glossy and on the slippery side, while the Matte has minimal sheen. Some shades can be drying or clingy but I don't find it a drying formula overall. The Lippie Stix have a gorgeous chocolate chip cookie scent.

Aquarius is described as 'a soft pinky nude Crème'. This is part of the ongoing Kathleen Lights collaboration and has spawned coordinating shades in the Ultra Satin, Ultra Matte and Ultra Glossy finishes plus there's an Aquarius 2 - gotta be good, right? Yes and no. The wear time is generous for a nude and a glossy one at that, clocking five hours on me and it's very comfortable on the lips. I did notice some wear to the centre of my lips and gathering of product, though.

Mosh Pit

Mosh Pit is described as a 'mid-tone warm brown Matte'. This shade was rereleased over the holiday period and was originally found in the Back To Cool set (2015), along with TGIF. I just need them to rerelease Choker from that set now and I'll have it completed! This is a lovely warm brown, not too light or dark for my skin tone and with enough rose in it to keep me happy. Mosh Pit lasted a bit over five hours on me and wasn't drying.

TGIF

TGIF is described as a 'true brick red Matte', which is both succinct and accurate. It's redder than Poision and reminds me of Jujurouge (limited edition/discontinued) with less gloss. Do like. ColourPop always do well with reds and TGIF is no exception, super smooth colour payoff and a six hour wear time. It faded a little over the duration of wear time and I experienced very minimal feathering (you'd have to be peering close to spot it).

What I liked:
  • Excellent colour payoff
  • Non-drying
  • Smooth, easy application
  • Wear time was between five and six hours
What I didn't like:
  • Some product gathering with Aquarius
  • Very minimal feathering with TGIF
Where to buy:
Have you tried any of these Lippie Stix?
