ColourPop may keep pumping out new and awesome lip products, but I think my favourite thing they make will always be the Lippie Stix! They smell amazing, they're brilliantly pigmented and the colour range is broad, on trend and ever changing. Earlier in the year I jumped in an order with the lovely Christel from Makeupper and picked up five Lippie Stix along with my first Ultra Satin Lip and some more Super Shock Shadows. You can check out Christel's Lippie Stix haul here

The packaging for the Lippie Stix is a glossy white twist up slim tube with a slanted lip bullet. I really like the smaller surface area of this lipstick style as it allows a more precision than your traditional larger teardrop shaped bullet. Each lipstick has a coloured end cap which matches the colour inside as well as a label with the name and finish (eg satin, matte, glossy).
The Lippie Stix have a gorgeous chocolate chip cookie scent - it smells just like the Rainbowlicious Chocolate Chip scrub to my nose, which means I'm basically in heaven every time I pop the cap off one of these. SO good.
There's a mixture of mattes and satins here and I've found the texture and application to be great with both formulas. All of them have a very subtle tackiness and a smooth, slightly creamy texture. The mattes seemed to be a little firmer on the lips, but they didn't drag or tug in any way, the satins had a bit more slip. They are all pretty forgiving of flaws, good news for those who struggle to keep pesky lip flakes away!

Oh Snap is a pale dirty nude pink in a Matte finish. It's a perfect everyday nude for pale skintones and glides on beautifully, lasting a bit under six hours on me. It's not a drying matte although it did feel a little clingy by the end.

Contempo

Contempo is a 'mid-tone dusty rose in a Matte finish'. I'm kind of on the fence about whether I like this on me, it's possibly a little too cool toned - or maybe it's just that it clashes badly with the dress I was wearing during this swatching session. Formula-wise though, it's nice enough, lasting four hours on me and leaving behind a pink stain.

Grunge

Grunge is a 'cool-toned plum brown in a Matte finish'. Not seeing much plum here, ColourPop - Grunge is a true 90s warm brown on me and I'm not really digging it. It wore for five hours and was slightly drying.

Jujurouge

Jujurouge (discontinued) is described as a 'deepened berry red in a Matte finish'. It has a little more sheen than some of ColourPop's other matte finish Lippie Stix and I suspect this contributed it to feathering slightly. It's a lovely red though, so I'll use a lip liner next time. Jujurouge wore for six hours on me and it was part of the now discontinued Jaime King collection.

Poison

Posion is a 'deep brown red' in a Matte finish. This is a really pretty red, the brick tones set it apart from the myriad of blue toned reds in my collection, so it's totally okay that I have a million reds. Right? Okay. Poison hung around for a very respectable six hours without feathering or drying out my lips.

What I liked:
  • All of the Lippie Stix have incredible colour pay off
  • Most shades weren't drying
  • All but Jujurouge wore well without feathering
  • Wear time was between four and six hours
What I didn't like:
  • Grunge was slightly drying
  • Jujurouge feathered slightly
  • Oh Snap felt clingy towards the end of wear
