ColourPop Forget the Fruitcake Lippie Stix Set Swatches & Review

I've unearthed another discontinued ColourPop set from my overflowing drafts folder, but this one's not quite as mean as the In Bloom set, because two of the Lippie Stix in the Forget the Fruitcake collection made it to the permanent range!

Forget the Fruitcake was originally released for the holidays in 2014, but was available right through to the middle of 2015. The shades Cookie and Lady were subsequently added to the permanent range and the set also marked the debut of the short-lived Hyper Glossy formula in the shades Tuxedo and Confetti.

The packaging for the Lippie Stix is a glossy white twist up slim tube with a slanted lip bullet. I really like the smaller surface area of this lipstick style as it allows a more precision than your traditional larger teardrop shaped bullet. Each lipstick has a coloured end cap which matches the colour inside as well as a label with the name and finish (eg satin, matte, glossy).

The Lippie Stix have a gorgeous chocolate chip cookie scent - it smells just like the Rainbowlicious Chocolate Chip scrub to my nose, which means I'm basically in heaven every time I pop the cap off one of these. SO good.

This set contained a mixture of Mattes (Cookie, Cheers, Lady, Tutu) and Hyper Glossy (Tuxedo, Confetti) finishes. The Matte finish is my preferred one in the Lippie Stix formula; it applies smoothly, generally isn't too drying and lasts really well. The Hyper Glossies, on the other hand, while delivering the brilliant shine that the name promises, tend to be overly emollient and feather like crazy - it was certainly the case with these two. ColourPop's trademark excellent texture, colour pay off and application were true to form though. They are pretty forgiving of flaws, good news for those who struggle to keep pesky lip flakes away, and I didn't find any of the colours in this set drying.

Cookie is described as a 'true nude beige in a Matte finish'. It's a great neutral for light-medium warm skintones and lasted for four hours on me without being drying. I'm so glad ColourPop made it permanent!

Tuxedo

Tuxedo is described as a 'cool toned neon pink in a Hyper Glossy finish'. It's incredibly emollient which led it to feather heavily shortly after application, and it continued to do so throughout wear. In total, it wore for five and a half hours, leaving behind an even stain.

Confetti

Confetti is described as a 'true blue red in a Hyper Glossy finish'. The glossy finish makes this the perfect Christmas red but like Tuxedo, I had issues with it feathering almost immediately. It lasted for five and a half hours as well and left a light stain.

Cheers is described as a 'deep raspberry in a Matte finish'. Such a beautiful shade, especially for autumn - if you spot it in a destash, pounce! It lasted for almost eight hours on me with minimal fading and no feathering.

Lady is described as a 'cool toned dirty burgundy in a Matte finish'. It pulls very brown on me and I couldn't really get into it, but obviously others liked it a lot more for it to have made the permanent range! It wore for six hours on me.

Tutu is described as a 'blackened red violet in a Matte finish'. It almost feels a bit samey when included in the same set as Cheers, although it is noticeably darker. Fortunately I have a fondness for berry tones! Tutu lasted for eight hours on me and was slightly faded after seven.
