Makeup Revolution: I ♡ Makeup Blushing Hearts - Candy Queen of Hearts Triple Baked Blushers Swatches & Review

Purchased by me

Hey lovelies,

Makeup Revolution has been on the lips (or keyboards?) of every blogger lately, with their ever growing range of products and cheeky tributes to coveted beauty brands like Urban Decay, Too Faced, Stila, Kat Von D and more. I've been intrigued by the brand since its launch and jumped at the chance to order with some friends when Makeup Revolution ran a free international shipping promotion a while ago. Among other things, I picked up one of their Blushing Hearts baked blushers as I'd been lusting after the Too Faced Sweethearts Perfect Flush blushes that they mimic for ages.

The packaging of the Blushing Hearts is very pretty, made with sturdy pink and gold cardboard. It's not so sturdy that I'd be comfortable popping this in a makeup bag though, for fear of scuffed packaging. That's okay though, as it looks very pretty displayed on my makeup cabinet!

Candy Queen of Hearts features three strips of colour in shimmering cool pink, pale peach and a dusty rose. Depending on the size and precision of your blush brush, you could potentially use the individual colours, but it's much easier to choose two or all three. I like that the finished result can pull pinker or more coral depending on how much of each colour you pick up. In the swatch below, the blended out swatch looks more coral, while in the FOTD Candy Queen of Hearts reads noticeably pinker.
If you fear shimmery blushes due to their tendency to emphasise pores, this is a very forgiving blush. I didn't notice any emphasis of skin texture, just a soft, glowing finish. Candy Queen of Hearts was easy to apply, blend and had buildable colour pay off. It lasted for eight hours before beginning to fade.

I officially now need all of the Blushing Hearts. Thanks, Makeup Revolution! :p Have you tried these? What do you think?
