Karen Murrell are bringing out gorgeous lipsticks thick and fast at the moment! Their newest addition, Coral Dawn, is right up my alley - coral is one of those colours that I find flattering and uplifting. If you missed my reviews of Sugar Rush and Rymba Rhythm, Karen Murrell is a New Zealand brand with a focus on creating natural products from ethical and renewable sources. It's also cruelty free so it ticks the boxes for those who like their beauty products with a conscience.
The packaging of Karen Murrell lipsticks is beautiful; each shade has its own artwork for the box, while the lipstick itself is presented in a sleek matte black tube. The artwork for Coral Dawn looked so peaceful that I had to cosy the lipstick up in pretty fabric.
Coral Dawn is an orange leaning coral with a demi-matte finish. It has great colour pay off without being super saturated, so if you shy away from bright corals, this is one to check out. When I wore it, Coral Dawn lasted for 6 hours, gradually fading from the 5 hour mark without feathering or migrating. Like the other Karen Murrell lipsticks I've tried, Coral Dawn has a light cinnamon scent and is very comfortable to wear and apply. The formula glides across the lips without skipping or tugging but isn't overly creamy - it's just an all round nice lipstick.
What I liked:
- Great opacity
- Comfortable to wear (does not dry out lips, feather or migrate)
- Long lasting - 6 hours +
- Does not feather or bleed
- Light cinnamon scent
- Easy on the conscience! The lipstick itself is made with natural ingredients and the packaging has been created with biodegradable materials from sustainable sources.
What I didn't like:
- Nothing!
