I have a classic lippy from MAC's permanent line to show you today. I gathered up enough empties recently to exchange for a lipstick as part of MAC's Back 2 MAC programme, and excitedly headed to the MAC counter with the intention of replacing my missing Diva lipstick. Unfortunately the Back 2 MAC programme seems to have changed since the last time I B2M'd two years ago (in NZ anyway, I'm unsure what the policy is overseas).
Instead of letting you choose any permanent lipstick (excluding the Viva Glam range), they're now allowing you to choose from a selection of 20 odd best selling lipsticks. The problem with this is that I already have most of the best sellers, and Diva wasn't among them. They did have Creme Cup though, a shade I'd admired on The Make Up Box but wasn't sure I could pull off. After trying it on though, the MAC girls assured me it worked, so off I went!
I'm really pleased I made the leap and chose Creme Cup. Presented in the usual MAC packaging, it's a soft cool pinky nude with just enough yellow in it to flatter my skintone.
Creme Cup is a great low maintenance nude once it's on. It does take a little attention to apply evenly, but it lasts for several hours on me and it wears away evenly. It has a beautiful but not overwhelming shine too. This is a great workhorse lippy which would suit lots of different make up looks.
What I liked:
- Gorgeous colour with the classic MAC vanilla scent
- Lovely texture - just enough slip, and feels moisturising.
- Prone to settling into liplines
- Needs a little attention to even out
- Available at all MAC counters and stockists
- Kiwis can also purchase this from shezza108 on Trade Me, a seller of MAC I've previously bought from and recommend.
Thanks for stopping by!
