Morning lovelies,
Today I want to share the contents of my lip bag! I'm a bit of a lipstick fiend, so this is by no means an extensive collection post, but it will showcase some of my absolute favourites :)
First things first, I keep my favoured lip products in this cute bag! Let's take a peek inside...
Phew! What a mess! Here we have...
- Lime Crime Carousel Glosses in Candy Apple and Cherry On Top. These thick, shimmery glosses are lovely and opaque. They do tend to migrate and bleed, even with lipliner, so they can be a bit of a pain to wear, but I get so many compliments when I put the effort in :)
- YSL Rouge Volupte #27, Rose Paris, Lime Crime Centrifuchsia, Lime Crime Retrofuturist, MAC Russian Red, MAC Hibiscus, Jordana Pink Passion, MAC Diva, MAC Patisserie, MAC Lustering, MAC Cut A Caper - details below :)
- Australis Red lipliner. Cheap as chips ($0.99 at Reduced to Clear stores in NZ), easy to apply, pigmented and it does its job of keeping lipstick in its place!
- NYX Lipliners in Pinky and Cabaret. Pinky is a versatile creamy medium pink which I usually pair with Centrifuchsia or MAC's Girl About Town. It works with Cherry on Top in a pinch too! Cabaret is a vampy burgundy which is great for MAC Diva, or Jordana Matte Eggplant.
- MAC Beet Lipliner is a deep pinkish red, which also works for Diva. I also like it with Rocker, Runway Red and Rebel (how's that for alliteration?) - it's really versatile too!
- A glass nail file for on the go fixes!
- OPI Avoplex Cuticle Oil to Go. This is great! I apply it at my desk at work when I remember, the brush tip makes it super easy to apply.
- Tweezers - you never know when you'll need them!
- Liprageous Wild Cherry lipbalm. I love these. I had these as a teenager and then they randomly popped up again in Kmart a while back, so I had to get more. They are just so darn cute!
My favourite lipsticks!
- YSL Rouge Volupte #27 Rose Paris. This is a gorgeous bright, creamy coral. This formula has a lot of slip, but surprisingly stays in place well and lasts too. This is my one and only Rouge Volupte, and I'd really love more from the range. I splurged on this after I received a Farmers gift voucher from my best friend for my 21st.
- Jordana Matte - Pink Passion . Wow. This is $3.90 of unexpected whim. I'll be honest, I very rarely gave Jordana lipsticks a second glance before seeing Make Up Box's swatch of this colour and even then, I wasn't expecting much. But Pink Passion blew me away - it is creamy, easy to apply, smells lovely and looks great on. I suspect this is very close to MAC Please Me, but I need to pull my tube out for a comparison. Pink Passion replaced Please Me in my lip bag, 'nuff said!
- Lime Crime - Retrofuturist. Possibly my favourite red ever! Certainly the brightest I own. It's such a fun, creamy, opaque shade. This is a red I can imagine Minnie Mouse adoring.
- Lime Crime - Centrifuchsia. A super flattering and fun bright pink. This is also really fun to wear lightly blotted as a stain. The shade is quite close to MAC's Girl About Town, but Centrifuchsia has a bit more oomph - and who can beat holographic unicorn tubes?!
- MAC - Lustering. This is my default pink lip when I don't feel like wearing something super bright, but don't feel like a nude lip either. It's a glossy watermelon pink - low maintenance too, I can skip lipliner without worrying about the colour bleeding.
- MAC - Russian Red. It took me a long time to warm up to Russian Red - I actually had it and destashed it twice before falling in love once and for all and buying this tube! Now it's one of my go to reds - the wear time is great, and the rich deep matte finish makes me feel very glam. The Wonder Woman packaging is just a bonus!
- MAC - Patisserie. Can you tell this is my favourite nude? :D I've worn this one to death, it's definitely a 'my lips but better' shade. I really need to get a new tube already!
- MAC - Hibiscus. This orange toned coral is so flattering on, I absolutely love it. It was limited edition with the Surf Baby collection and I'm a little paranoid of running out!
- MAC - Cut A Caper. Cut A Caper is a sheer light coral, very cute and uncomplicated. A nice alternative to a basic nude lip.
- MAC - Diva. Diva is a gorgeous deep wine-burgundy shade. I love pairing it with winged eyeliner and defined lashes. I have a few similar shades (Rocker, Jordana Matte Eggplant) but this one is the most flattering and has the best pigment and weartime.
And another shot for fun :)
If you'd like to see swatches of any of these products, please let me know and I'll be happy to oblige.
Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful day!
X
Lani
