ZA Liquid Eyeliner - BK999 Real Black Swatches & Review

I have another ZA review to share with you today! If you've been following my blog for awhile, you'll know I rarely skimp on the liquid liner and I'm always searching for my next favourite. Like ZA's Brow Liner (reviewed yesterday), the Liquid Eyeliner has recently undergone a packaging makeover in shiny black and pink. Like the rest of ZA's liner products, the Liquid Eyeliner is a waterproof and smudge-proof formula, absolute musts for my oily lids!

The ZA Liquid Eyeliner has an ultra-fine tip which makes it easy to create your ideal eyeliner shape. I usually stick to a wing, but had a quick play around with this and tried a double wing too. The formula reminds me a lot of my beloved Shiseido Fineliner, which I stopped purchasing after Shiseido switched to non refillable packaging (if I'm paying $70 for eyeliner, it darn well needs to be refillable!). It makes sense that the formulas are similar, since Shiseido is of course ZA's parent company and formula innovations are no doubt shared in house.

So, formula. It's pigmented, flows freely and dries to a satin finish. More forgiving of application mishaps than a matte liner, doesn't crease or grab shadow the way a glossy finish tends to do on me - my ideal liner! ZA promises 24 hour wear and while I didn't choose to wear this for a full 24 hours, I found that it was unfaded and crease free after 13 hours. After the fourteenth hour, there was the tiniest bit of creasing on my left eyelid, which is slightly more hooded and prone to creasing - and by tiniest, I mean I stood really close to the mirror peering at my eyelids in order to detect it. People with drier lids will likely get even more mileage. It worked well for tightlining too. Highly recommend!
