Femme Fatale July 2017 New Releases Swatches & Review

I'm a little late with Femme Fatale's July release but there's still time to pick it up if you've got your eye on something - it closes at 9PM AEST tonight! I have four shades to share with you today; two from their Emily de Molly collaboration and two that are Aussie Indie Con exclusives. The EDM collabs may be available from stockists - you'll want to check in with your nearest stockist about that - while the Indie Con exclusives are a one time release. And trust me, you don't want to miss them, they're my favourite of this quartet!

Swatch notes: I do not use base coat for my swatches and top coat is only used where noted. Everything was photographed using a three point lighting set up under daylight bulbs.

Crepuscular Awakening ($10.50) is the first of two shades in Femme Fatale's Emily de Molly collaboration. It's a thermal polish with aqua shimmer and holo microglitter which is denim blue in its cold state and a light taupe in its warm state. Femme Fatale are pretty boss at thermals and Crepuscular Awakening doesn't disappoint, the formula is in fine form as usual!

Transitioning (reversed)

Apologies that I couldn't capture the transition in the right order, it was so bloody cold when I swatched this that my hands just couldn't stay warm enough to show it properly! Shout out to my three year old for standing beside me with the hair dryer so that we could show you a warm state at all!

Lodestar

Lodestar ($10AUD) is described as a 'sheer, soft lilac purple packed with holo accents, iridescent blue-green flakes, and scattered silver holographic glitters'. This ties with Balefire for my favourite of the new releases as I'm really enjoying the ethereal, sheer vibe at the moment. This was three coats without top coat as it wasn't overly textured.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Duskwood, 3 coats + top coat

Duskwood ($11AUD) is from the Emily de Molly collaboration and it's a dusty dark teal with green to blue shifting flakies and strong purple shimmer. It's basically a cruelty-free peacock in a bottle! It built to a mostly opaque finish in three coats and dried with a fair amount of texture, so I recommend top coat.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics - Balefire, 3 coats + top coat

Balefire ($10AUD) is described as a 'shimmering violet base packed with soft gold and bronzed microglitters, and iridescent red-orange flakes'. The second of the two Aussie Indie Con exclusives, Balefire has been on my nails since I swatched it and I absolutely love it! Worn sheerly, it's delicate and sparkly while still being a bit understated, but it would make a gorgeous topper, too. I used three coats for lots of sparkle, you could certainly do more or less as Balefire applies evenly either way but you'll definitely want a thick top coat as it's a bit of a top coat eater.
