Notoriously Morbid June 2015 Vanishing Cabinet Beyond the Goblin City Swatches & Review

Back in May I got an exciting email - spots had finally opened up for the Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet subscription! I'd signed up back to the waitlist back in February and promptly forgotten about it. The one time I can be grateful for my shoddy memory, otherwise I think the wait would have killed me.

The Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service from US based indie brand Notoriously Morbid. The amount of products included seems to vary, but there's typically four to five products in each with a guest indie brand often included and usually a sticker that matches the pop culture based theme too. It's $12.90USD within the US and $17USD for international (including shipping), so a very reasonable monthly treat! You can sign up for the wait list here or purchase a one month trial (while available) here

This review (along with every month of The Vanishing Cabinet since) is horrendously late because the shades included are a surprise and I like to test everything thoroughly before I review it - for some shades that are outside of my comfort zone, it takes a little longer to find a way for me to wear it! Not always with success, I might add, but still, you live and learn huh? I was delighted to tear open my parcel and find that my Vanishing Cabinet maiden voyage was based on the movie Labyrinth, one of my all time favourites. I could go into embarrassing detail about just how much Labyrinth means to me, but I've already waffled enough, so let's get to it!

All swatches are applied to bare skin (on the left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (on the right) using a patting motion and photographed under daylight bulbs.

You Have No Power is a pale silvery pink shimmer (is it pink? Is it grey? I can't quite tell). It applies beautifully alone or over a sticky base and blends out easily. I've applied it on my inner corner in the look below.
This shade is still available on the Vanishing Cabinet overstock page!

Noble Sirs is a smokey slate grey with strong cornflower blue shimmer, especially over a sticky base, I found it really easy to work with. I wore it on the inner half of my eyelids in the look below.
Noble Sirs is also still available in the VC overstock.

Don't Defy Me is a dusty blurple with heavy green shimmer and silver sparkles. I love the complexity of this shade, although it is a bit too cool toned for me. It definitely benefits from the sticky base to bring out all the shimmer but it's otherwise easy to apply and blend. I wore it on the outer half of my lid in the look below.

Say Your Right Words is a medium brown with strong pink shimmer that makes it read more purple over all to my eyes. Again, no complaints here, it performs beautifully - I'mw earing it all over the lid over Pixie Epoxy and alone on the lower lashline in the look below. I think this is my favourite of the Notoriously Morbid shades from the June sub.

Fire Gang is a coppery bright orange shimmer with pink sparkles. It applies nicely alone or over Epoxy and is really easy to work with. This is my first time trying Corvus Cosmetics and I'm really impressed, I definitely want to try more now!
