NV Colour Lipstick - Sorbet Swatches & Review

Provided for review

Hey lovelies,

NV Colour is currently the new kid on the block in NZ pharmacies, with displays popping up left, right and centre. I first spotted the brand in some of my local pharmacies, then my friend Teigan posted about some of the eyeshadows. The intrigue was mounting, so I was super excited when the brand offered to send me a selection for review. You see the preview post here - don't forget to let me know what you'd like to see a review for next!

NV Colour Lipstick - Sorbet Swatches & Review

NV lipsticks come in matte black packaging with a magnetic closure - a very cool touch and a source of endless amusement! (I may have spent more than a few moments sitting and pulling the cap partway off then snapping back into place during the writing of this review.) The NV logo with its splash of contrasting white is fun and eye catching. The packaging makes it feel like more of an expensive lipstick than the $14.00NZD price tag belies.

NV Colour Lipstick - Sorbet Swatches & Review

Sorbet is a vibrant watermelon pink with a satin finish. I was impressed by how pigmented it is and the smooth, easy application, plus the colour is very 'me'! There is a strong chemical scent to this lipstick that I'm really not a fan of, though it quickly became unnoticeable on lips. It lasts for six hours on me without feathering or drying out my lips. While I'm loving everything else about this lipstick, I'm not sure I can get past the scent to pick others out from the line. While it does disappear quickly over the course of wear, my personal feeling is that applying lipstick is one of life's simple pleasures, not something you should have to hold your nose for. What about you - is the scent of your lipstick a make or break?
