I love using false eyelashes to add the perfect finishing touch to my makeup looks and Ardell make many of my favourite styles. They're inexpensive, light and comfortable to wear for long periods, plus there's a huge range of styles to suit different eye shapes and personal preferences. Ardell's PR were kind enough to send me a few pairs to add to my collection - you may have noticed them joining the Demi Wispies and Wispies in heavy rotation on my
Instagram, where I post my makeup looks first (don't forget to give me a follow!). The 117s are a brand new style to me, while the 120 Demis and 110s I've used and repurchased many times before. I think I'll have to add the 117s to that shopping list now!
#117
The #117 style is great if you want to add fluttery length and volume. They're moderately curved on the outer corners, a shape that elongates and flatters the eyes, and the clusters of lashes are just dense enough to add a touch of drama to your own lashes while still looking natural enough to be believable.
I've paired the #117s with Dark Matter Makeup Xenomorph all over the lid, ColourPop Seeker on the outer V and lower lashline and the W7 The Nudes palette for the rest.
#120 Demi
The 120 Demis are very similar to my beloved Demi Wispies, a little shorter and more densely packed for a voluminous but not OTT look. You may prefer these if you find the two Wispies styles a bit too long or dramatic but still want a wispy look.
I've used eyeshadows from Notoriously Morbid to compliment the 120 Demis for this look: It's the Riche on the inner third of the lid and inner corner here, Garmonbozia on the outer two thirds, Shadow on the lower lashline and Logic Boy on the crease.
#110
Oh 110s, you can do no wrong. I love this style for adding volume and a small amount of length to my own lashes - they're a style I choose when I want to add a little oomph, not have my falsies be the centre of attention!
I've used the 110s with shades from Darling Girl Cosmetics for this look: Wine Is My Valentine on the outer half of the lid and on the lower lashline, I'll Just Date Myself on the inner half of the lid, My Cat Loves Me on the inner corner, Breaktheinternet for the transition and Kilt-Y Pleasures on the crease.
Ardell products are available at selected pharmacies across New Zealand.
