You know that feeling of sweeping a new blush on your cheeks and finding that it is everything you hoped it would be? Silky, pigmented - but not overwhelmingly so, blendable and the perfect natural flush. Well, Brun Roche from Lancome's Blush Subtil range (RRP $79NZD) completely nails that feeling for me.
Lancome's sleek black packaging is sparingly decorated with a golden Lancome rose on the lid, and that same rose is imprinted in the powder. The gold is repeated on the brush too; simple but beautiful accents. The included brush does a serviceable job in a pinch, but I'm never a fan of these included applicators. (Can we start a petition for the cosmetic industry to ditch the applicators and increase the pan size? Please?) The mirror in the lid is great, generously sized too, which is always appreciated!
Brun Roche is a warm coral-brown with a satin finish. The Blush Sutbil formula is silky and easy to apply, it doesn't accentuate dry patches or other texture and sits beautifully on the skin. never looking or feeling powdery. The colour pay off is very pigmented, but manages to look utterly natural at the same time. Brun Roche lasted around ten hours on me, growing gradually fainter, though still visible, at the seven hour mark. There's a light perfume scent in the compact but I didn't notice it during application or wear.
I'm wearing Brun Roche with the Australis Cream Contouring & Highlighting Kit (the contour's not terribly well blended, sorry - not the best colour match on me) and MAC Northern Light Mineralize Skinfinish.
