Hey lovelies,
The next Essence product on the chopping block is one of their quads! I received this pretty neutral quad, #05 To Die For and it's super versatile.
The quads come in clear plastic packaging with irregularly shaped eyeshadow pans. I kind of wish the highlighter shade was the biggest instead of the light gold, because I always seem to hit pan on highlighters first, but with a recommended retail price of $6.75NZD at least you won't be breaking the bank replacing it!
Swatched on bare skin under daylight bulbs
The texture of these eyeshadows is incredibly soft, though not powdery and they have lovely, smooth colour payoff. I found them really easy to blend and diffuse, which makes them great multi taskers - I used the matte brown and white shimmer as a cheek contour and highlight respectively in the look below, along with all four eyeshadows on the eyes.
I'm definitely keen to check out more of Essence's quads after trying To Die For. If you only choose one though, I think this would make a great all rounder!
What I liked;
- Soft, blendable textures
- Great colour pay off
- Multi tasker - can be used for highlighting & contouring face too
- Budget friendly price
- I would have preferred the highlighter shade to be one of the larger pans
