Notoriously Morbid July 2016 Vanishing Cabinet Swatches & Review

Would you look at that, now I'm only a year and a half behind on VC posts! Only. Ha. This next Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet takes inspiration from Ghostbusters! I know so many people LOVE this movie but I've only seen it once and my memories are hazy so a rewatch is definitely due. Time to check the IMDB parents guide to see if it'll be all good for my boys to watch too, I think!

About the subscription:
The Vanishing Cabinet is a monthly subscription service from US based indie brand Notoriously Morbid. The amount of products included seems to vary, but there's typically three to four products in each and occasionally six in special VCs. It's $13.25USD within the US and $20USD for international (including shipping), so a very reasonable monthly treat! You can sign up for the wait list here or purchase a one month trial (while available) here. Overstock is occasionally posted here.

All eyeshadow swatches are applied to bare skin (on the left) and over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy (on the right) using a patting motion and photographed under daylight bulbs. Blushes are swatched heavily on the left and sheered out on the right.

Are You A God? is a purplish-taupe with golden shimmer and subtle purple sparkles. It has a very blendable texture and delivers ample colour payoff and sparkle. I definitely need to use this one more!

For this look, I've used Grey Lady on the outer two thirds of the lower lashline, Fight For Beauty on the inner two thirds, He's Going Through Changes for the transition, Doll's Eye on the crease, Are you A God on the lid and Crybaby on the inner corner. The lashes are these ones from Ebay in the style 208.

Take Me Now, Subcreature is a tangerine orange blush with strong golden shimmer that buffs down to a flattering satin glow. It's very pigmented and I think it would look stunning on WOC! With a light hand, I quite like it on me, too.

I've teamed Take Me Now, Subcreature with Giant contour powder and My Beloved highlighter for this look.

Don't let the swirl of slime green in the tube fool you, I've Been Slimed is a pretty and very wearable light coral with strong golden pearl. Notoriously Morbid's lipglosses are lightweight, hydrating and non-sticky so if these are factors you look for in a lipgloss, definitely keep an eye out for more of their Cosmic Lipcraft glosses. They appear to be missing from the site at the moment but hopefully they'll make a return!

Toasted Destroyer

Notoriously Morbid Toasted Destroyer Slumber Salve Review

A fitting tribute to the ill-fated Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, Toasted Destroyer Slumber Salve is a toasted marshmallow scented overnight lip mask. These Salves are thick, super hydrating and deliciously scented without being overwhelming. I find that when I remember to pop some on before bed, they really do make a difference to the condition of my lips, which is particularly important when I'm doing a lot of swatching!
Toasted Destroyer was available as part of the permanent range of Slumber Salves for a time but it's just been discontinued, so if you're hankering for a marshmallow fix, I recommend Mathesons Marshmallow Fluff from the Literary Love Night Kiss Balm collection. It's divine!

What did you think of this selection? I think Carrie totally knocked it out of the park, I liked every product in this set!
