Lipstick Lover's Christmas Guide 2016

It's time for another gift guide and once again, I'm bringing you another entry dedicated to the lipstick fanatics on your shopping list. Being one of those myself, I just can't squeeze all of these fab options into a general guide! Keep on scrolling for lippy suggestions for a variety of budgets and preferences and if you're looking for swatches or reviews for any of them, hit me up - I'm working my way through a bunch of them at the moment but it always helps to hear from you what you'd like to see first!

Living Nature Colour Me Natural collection review

Living Nature have a couple of gift sets out for the holidays, each containing three of their lipsticks in complimentary tones. They're $75NZD each, so with their lipsticks usually being $33NZD each, you save $24 on the set. I love that they've split the sets into colour families to make it easier to pick out a selection of shades your gift recipient will like. If they prefer neutral lips, go with Colour Me Natural, red lovers will enjoy Colour Me Vibrant and pink lipstick fiends will love Colour Me Romantic.
I have Colour Me Natural which has three warm, earthy nudes: Precious, Sandstone and Warm Wood. The formula is really comfortable and flattering on the lips, Living Nature have the kind of lipstick formula that anyone can enjoy. I'll have a full review with swatches up ASAP!

Burt's Bees holiday gift packs review

These Burt's Bees gift sets are gorgeously packaged - I can't wait to hang the Kissable Colour set (RRP $20NZD) on my tree! I've already reviewed it here, so pop on over and take a peek if sheer, super moisturising tinted lip balms sound up your alley. The Delight Up Your Lips set (RRP $25NZD) is equally covetable and contains the Redwood Forest lip crayon (a flattering warm, medium reddy brown shade) and a pomegranate scented lip balm, complete with a makeup bag.

Mellow Cosmetics lipsticks review

Kiwi brand Mellow Cosmetics have an expanding range at really decent prices (I'm currently eyeing up the Treasure Chest palette!) but so far I'm most impressed by their lip products! There's the Matte Liquid Lip Paints ($20NZD) and Ultra Matte Lipsticks ($18.18NZD) to choose from, each with a well-edited selection of classic and on-trend colours. There's sure to be something your gift recipient will like plus it feels great shopping from a local brand!

ColourPop lipsticks review

Ohhhh, ColourPop. I couldn't do a lipstick gift guide without mentioning them, could I? My love for their Lippie Stix knows no bounds (just ask my bank statement) and recently I've been foraying into their Ultra Matte, Metallic and Satin formulas too. While some of their holiday sets have sadly already sold out, there's still plenty to appease your favourite lipstick addict. I'm currently loving Knotty Ultra Matte ($6USD) from the holiday collection, Surprise Ultra Metallic ($6USD) from the Hello Kitty collaboration and the Persuede Me Lippie Stix set ($25USD) - you can catch my review of that last one here. ColourPop are offering free international shipping over $50USD at the moment too, so feel free to chuck a few things in for yourself to make up that threshold. I won't judge. But I will link you to my archive of ColourPop reviews to help you choose ;)

L'Oreal Color Riche lipsticks review

L'Oreal have been collaborating with their brand ambassadors again to release a set of gorgeous neutrals in their Color Riche lipstick range (RRP $23.99NZD each). There are four shades to cover an array of skintones, from the very cool, pale pink of Doutzen's Nude to the warmer pinky-corals of Julianne and Eva's Nudes, to the greige chicness of J Lo's Nude.

YSL Rouge Pur Couture 01 lipstick review

As if YSL's regular Rouge Pur Couture packaging didn't set my heart fluttering already, they've released four shades from their permanent line in limited edition Sparkle Clash packaging. It's glitzy, it's glorious, it has stars engraved in the lipstick bullet - I'm fanning myself as we speak. The shades are available are 01 Le Rouge, 13 Le Orange (both reviewed here), 09 Rose Stiletto and 19 Fuchsia. Pictured is Le Rouge (RRP $65NZD), which is as classic as reds come and boasts a stellar formula.

Notoriously Morbid Mystic Matte lipstick review

Christmas is the perfect opportunity to introduce someone to a new brand, so why not go indie? Notoriously Morbid's Mystic Mattes ($12USD) are one of my favourite liquid matte formulations and the shade selection is incredible. They're all hand formulated and made in West Virginia, USA, by the lovely Carrie. I've reviewed heeeeeeaaaaaaps of them, so check out the archive to check a bunch of them out.

If you're wanting to grab something that's a bit more accessible locally, Collection Cosmetics Lasting Colour lipsticks (RRP $16.50NZD) are available at Countdown supermarkets nationwide - perfect for chucking in your trolley as a last minute gift (We've all been there, right?!). I'm enjoying the shades Pretty in Peach and Red Carpet at the moment.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream vault lipstick review

And when you don't know which lip colours they like best, just buy all of them. The NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Vault (RRP $89NZD) covers just about every option with all thirty-six shades of their Soft Matte Lip Creams. There's a Liquid Suede vault out for the same price too, which is all too tempting for people with poor restraint issues. Not naming names.

Do you have any lipstick fiends in your life to shop for? What are you picking up for them this year?
