Clarins Intense Eye Collection Review

I talked briefly about the Clarins Intense Eye Collection in one of my gift guides earlier this month and as I've now had a chance to trial things over a few weeks, I'm ready to share my thoughts! This kit has a total value of $83 but has been available for $50NZD over the holidays. You may be able to score it on sale now that Christmas has passed - Farmers currently has 10% off beauty so it's worth checking there if you've had your eye on it. All of the products included are available year round if you like the look of them, though.

In this gift set, you'll find a full-size Supra Volume mascara and minis of the Instant Eye Make Up Remover and Crayon Kohl in Carbon Black. The whole kit and caboodle is presented in a super soft white quilted makeup bag - I'm a little concerned about how grubby it will get, but it feels very luxurious for now.

Clarins Crayon Kohl - Carbon Black Swatches & Review

The Crayon Eye Kohl is creamy and smooth in texture with excellent colour payoff. I found it really easy to use on both my upper and lower lashlines and on my waterline, with no tugging or skipping whatsoever. It's smudgeable enough that it can be easily manipulated for a short time after application but sets and lasts very well. Carbon Black is a pigmented, inky black and is one of eight shades in the full range of Eye Kohls.

Clarins Supra Volume Mascara review

The Supra Volume Mascara is a relatively new addition to Clarins' range and is presently only available in one shade, Carbon Black. It has a traditional bristle brush which is slim and medium in size - I love that it's not huge and unwieldy as mascara wands tend to be trending towards these days! This wand does a great job of grabbing and lifting up my stubborn, straight lashes without clumping and I'm especially enjoying it for my lower lashes, which can be difficult to get at on the outer third. The formula delivers feathery volume and defines my lashes well.
As far as wear goes, I'm pretty pleased! I experience no running or smudging during wear and have only noticed the tiniest amount of flaking at the end of the day. These are minuscule flakes I'm talking about, too - I don't think anyone but the wearer would notice them. Overall, a great mascara that I'd happily repurchase.

Before & after Supra Volume Mascara

The Instant Eye Makeup Remover, I'll admit I haven't tested extensively yet but so far I'm enjoying it. It removes eye makeup, including waterproof formulas with ease and is very gentle on the eyes. It is the kind of remover that leaves some residue behind which may or may not bother you but it does come away easily during the rest of my cleansing routine.

Clarins products are available at Farmers and selected department stores and pharmacies.
