Here are the rest of the Notoriously Morbid Mystic Mattes I have to show you, as promised! The first two, Temple and Sacrifice, are permanent shades, while Juju was the August COTM. Hatsheput is from the Ancient Mystic Matte range, a sparkling array of metallics.

In yesterday's post I mentioned the duo packaging, which Temple and Sacrifice are in, has been discontinued due to faulty packaging issues (which were fortunately picked up by the Notoriously Morbid team and not passed onto customers). Well, here is the full size packaging for both the regular and Ancient Mystic Mattes (pictured is Hatsheput), a long double walled 4ml tube. It has a standard doe foot applicator.
These liquid mattes are among the easiest I've used to date, with a thin but easy to control formula and great opacity. Most are opaque in one coat, though they can be layered easily if needed and will not clump, streak or stick to themselves. There's no need to keep your lips parted while they dry, as many formulas require, because of the non-tackiness and fairly quick dry-down, yet they never fully set. You'll still get transfer with the Mystic Mattes, although obviously less than a creamy lipstick, and they tend to wear away evenly like a regular lipstick, instead of mostly in the centre, as I often experience with liquid mattes.
Some shades are drying but most are more clingy than anything. I did not experience any feathering or bleeding with any of them, they can be smudged if touched or smeared, but will not otherwise migrate. They have a faintly sweet scent.

Temple
Temple is described as a 'rosy pink'. It's a cool, greyed out pink, much more muted than the swatch on the website. I'm not sure it really suits me, but those with cooler leanings would probably love it! It was a touch streakier than the other Mystic Mattes I've tried, but still impressively opaque overall for such a light shade, and wore for four hours. I found it to be minimally drying.

Sacrifice
You may be wondering how many matte reds I need at this point in my makeup collecting, to which the answer is always more (obviously). I'm happy to say Sacrifice is actually one of the more unique shades I own, most companies bringing out liquid matte lipsticks have included a Lime Crime Red Velvet-esque blue-red as their stock standard, while Sacrifice is firmly in brick red territory. It's described as a 'sanguine red' and it's exactly that - in fact, I keep typing 'sanguine' instead of 'Sacrifice' and having to correct myself. Colour pay off was great and Sacrifice wore for five hours without being drying.

Juju
Juju is described as a 'blushing rose with subtle shimmer'. It's a medium, warm muted rose pink and the shimmer is indeed subtle, but it's there! It does bug me that the shimmery regular Mystic Mattes appear much more shimmery on the Notoriously Morbid website than they do in real life. You can bring out the shimmer a bit more by gently pressing your lips together (once dry) or running a cotton bud across them. Don't get me wrong though, I adore this colour and dearly wish it was permanent! Hopefully Notoriously Morbid bring it back some day. It wears for six hours on me and is minimally dyring.

Hatsheput
Hatsheput is described as a 'rich burgundy'. It's a near black burgundy with heavy pink shimmer and sparks of gold. The formula of the Ancient Mystic Mattes is a bit different to the regular ones, the pigments are apparently heavier, so they require a good shake before application, The pigments seem to be a little clumpier overall, but mostly smooth out during application - you can see some of the texture caused by this on my upper lip in the swatch.
I found Hatsheput on the sheerer side but it built up readily as despite how the above may sound, it is still a fairly easy formula to work with. It wore for five hours on me without being drying and left behind a faint murky tint.
What I liked:
- Great colour pay off
- Formula is easy to control and apply
- No feathering or bleeding
- All shades last between four and six hours
- Hatsheput and Sacrifice were not drying
- Wear away evenly
What I didn't like:
- Juju and Temple were minimally drying
